  1. Pretty cool. Dirty Jobs did a segment like that. Theirs was a little more involved. Nowadays when a car gets dunked,it just scrap. It would cost more to replace all of the electronics than the car is worth.
  2. Nice little paintbooth..
  3. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=872017
  4. Those look like nice molds. You have done well,grasshopper..
  5. Oh I get it. Nudge nudge wink * wink
  6. Yay, I got it right! What do I win? How are you going to make the bubble top?
  7. Here's the version I was talking about. it only had the 427.
  8. That really sucks. And the sad part is,that once they're gone, all that's left is the big box stores and online stores. I always liked the old mom and pop hobby shops. You never knew what you were going to find.
  9. Welcome to the forum! I saw a post about these chassis kits a while ago. They said that Renwal was notorious for leaving small pieces out of the kit. So be careful if you buy one,it may not be complete. Good luck!
  10. The show I remember him from was called 'Margie' Not 'my little Margie' with Gale Storm . It was a sitcom about a girl in the roaring 20's. Mr Ivo was a regular on it. It wasn't on very long... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margie_%28TV_series%29
  11. Another one of them thar horseless carriages huh? They'll never catch on.
  12. John,It's almost scary the amount of detail you do.. Very cool, for lack of a better term. Great pics of 'TV' Tommy Ivo. I can remember when he was on TV. Love the chess set too!
  13. Sure doesn't sound like a Chevy 6.
  14. Looks like another masterpiece. Great work as usual John!
  15. I love to save old glue bombs! That really looks nice!
  16. Joshua,it's your model and you can build it however you want. big rims look OK on some cars (or trucks). That Ford is a small car to start with, and those wheels are just too big. 16's or 17's would have worked better.
  17. Nice roadster! That's kind of the way i want to build mine.
  18. So this version has 2 engines? There was a version years ago that just had the big block in it.
  19. Thanks guys! From what I've read, you don't want to be behind an open wheel hot rod on the highway They can kick up rocks. The cycle fender help out there. I'm still not crazy about them.
  20. That's just the chances you take. It's happened to me too.
  21. Yep. Same here. Getting older...
  22. Here's my latest rebuild. It's another one I bought from *bay and redid. This is the original 1963(?) version. This one came apart pretty easy except for the engine. I left it on the chassis because I didn't want to break the fragile motor mounts. I had to do a little body work on the passenger's side. it looked like when they were building it,they had the body and interior shell upside down, and someone spilled a bottle of Testor's liquid glue down the inside. The plastic was puffed up and I broke the top edge of the body getting the interior out. I sprayed it Tamiya orange which is close to the original color plastic. I'm not a big fan of cycle fenders, but they always showed up on the old pictures of these,.
  23. Only 3 at a time? What a concept.
  24. Another kit from my childhood. Picked one up a few months ago. Got the double 'T' kit with the unchopped roof too. Great kits!
  25. I don't check every section. But I looka t several. I like large scale,so I go there. Harry builds really nice models.
