  1. I'd rather have that in my garage than a Ferrari any day.
  2. LOL Great story. Did she break up with him later?
  3. The Lincoln Futura comes to mind... I started it,that's why I'm avoiding it. Someday I might be get ambitious enough to finish it.

Welcome to the forum! Nice artwork!
  5. Way too cool Ira! I wonder what your fertile imagination will come up with next?
  6. Great build! That's what most of them looked like after a couple of years.
  7. Old? I was almost out of high school when that came out. That's not old.
  8. I know it's not a kit,but Danbury made a nice 57 Sweptside. Old Dodge trucks never get the respect they deserve...
  9. After reading a lot of these posts,it's evident that wagons are popular. I like them too. How come the model makers don't make more of them? AMT making a 49 Ford woody would be a no-brainer. But they never did. The 57 Ford and a new 57 Nomad would be great. I really like the plain Jane 4 doors ,but I don't see that happening unless it's resin.
  10. Very nice! I like that body style.
  11. George Jetson would be proud to have one of those babies,Ira! Great work!
  12. So would this be about the size of the Dodge Dakota or a D-50? It's still kinda ugly...
  13. It's strange how small those trucks were compared to what they have now. A Ford Super Duty pickup is almost as big.
  14. The model makers have been doing it for years. How many times have you seen 'retouched photo of actual model' on the box? And a lot of times it's pretty obvious. I know, that's a whole other post.
  15. Here's another one. The car from Half Life2 Episode 2. Half Charger -half dune buggy. I had to build a model of this. The car is the actual model, but the background is a screen shot from the game.
  16. Slightly guilty. I've changed backgrounds - pretty obvious-and fixed little boo boo's that I didn't see until after I took the picture. BUT- I have never redone a car to post here. The things I saw after I took the pictures were fixed, too.
  17. I'm trying to think of the year I got a Strombecker model building tool kit for Christmas. I think it was 1963 or 64. I would have been 11 or 12. It had needle nose pliers, tweezers, and a generic 'hobby knife' I know I must have cut myself on that (still do) but fortunately, nothing requiring stiches. Good times... I still have the pliers btw
  18. Superb build and great paint!
  19. Thanks Austin, those are nice! I think I've seen the red one before,or one like it. I have 6 or 7 of that kit in different forms. Stepside, monster truck, etc.
  20. I don't know if this would count or not,but this is my 'studio'. It's where I build models and draw and stuff like that.
  21. on the TV show,Extreme Homes, they showed a converted gas staion. It was built before the era of 'modern' filling stations. The guy did a great job of converting the upstairs to living quarters. The ground level still looked like a garage. I did a search, but couldn't find it. I have it on VHS tape. He had a 40's Chevy tow truck sitting in the bay. He had someone blow up a picture of the truck sitting there, and put it on the garage door. it looked like the door was open when it wasn't. He used tool cabinets for vanities and storage. There was a neon Mobil flying horse ion the bedroom wall. A lot of polished diamond plate, but very tasteful.
  22. Other people might think modelers are nerdy, but I'll tell you one thing - Modelers are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet.
  23. I have the Tuner kit. I might have to get that one too. I'd like to see a Datsun 620 pickup done in a kit with that kind of quality. Sorry MPC...
