  1. The Ala Kart has always been one of my favorite show cars. That's a good take on it.
  2. Great model! It looks a lot like the real truck that Rod & Custom magazine gave away at the street rod nationals in the early 70's. Very cool.
  3. Looks like I'll have to start saving my pennies. The Ford wagon and the SWC Willys are a must have!
  4. OK , on topic here. Yes, I remember when they were under $2.00. My dad worked for a local hardaware store that had a great toy department. since he worked there,I got things for cost plus 10%. But being just 10 years old, a $1.50 was hard to come by.
  5. You've probably figured it out by now that nothing stays the same. It's not just the model industry. The toy industry is suffering, too. Sales of Barbie dolls were down 15%. Electronics and social media have taken over. Yes, a hobby would do a lot of kids good. But you can't force it on them. I don't know what the solution is. I wish I did.
  6. Love the doodles,Jeff! What mediums do you use in your artwork? Markers?
  7. Uh yes , I'll take the 65 thank you.. I have heard about the Peter Max collection before, but I didn't know the background on it.
  8. Very nice Jeff! I used to check out the FAS every week, and I've posted several times. nothing as good as yours though... I saved the ones I liked for drawing ideas and model building too.
  9. wow! You've come a long way from a card table. Very cool!
  10. Welcome Jeff! You posted on the HAMB didn't you? On the Friday Art Show? I really like your art.
  11. I love cabovers, but that first one would give you nosebleeds...
  12. Sports cars and/or 'sporty' cars have never had much of a trunk. Viper,Prowler, early T-birds,MGs,That's just the way they are. If you want a trunk, get a Cadillac.
  13. Is that from the HAMB? There's a couple of guys on there that are really good at that. Very cool!
  14. They gained a coupe in 63,which is still totally hot to this day. The newer convertibles have a trunk again. Not much, but it's there.
  15. I hear ya.. I don't build as often as I should, and all of these great kits (new and reissued) is overwhelming. There's no way I can build everything I want to. and I'm retired,so time shouldn't be an issue.
  16. I love double kits! It would be great if they could release the original Ala Kart/Model A. Probably not going to happen.
  17. Sweet! And on weekends, you can rent it out as a steam roller. Very cool build!
  18. That's why I was doing this Harry. I just got the Mercury kit a few weeks ago. But there's another project in front of it.
  19. That is a nice looking car,Bill.
  20. I've liked 3 wheeled cars ever since I saw this one. The Astro III. It would be like flying a fighter plane. But in actuality,it has 2 wheels in front.
  21. Ok, Harry,I see what you mean.
  22. I'll see what I can do about the hump. But the side windows are stock except for the very back part . B pillar? Here's another view. Pay no attention to the background.
