  1. That Cosma Ray is just sexy....
  2. Thanks for the information Casey!
  3. Does anyone have a good picture or scan of the Monogram Futurista display? This is what they displayed a finished model on at the LHS. I found some pictures on Google, but they're kinda small. I'm making a replica of the display. I can't make out what it says on the lower left under 'Chrome plated volkswagen engine'. Thanks in advance! Here's a pic
  4. If you can see it from any angle,it gets painted.
  5. I wouldn't mind having one of those deliveries. A '48 Chevy pace car would be nice, too.

Thanks for posting that Bill! I paint, too, mostly self taught. I'll have to try painting the top of the car with the mid range value like you did. That never occurred to me to do it that way. Is it finished yet? I'd like to see the finished product.
  7. Nice! That would have been my dream truck around 1980.
  8. That is a great conversion! The figures are painted nice too. Don't get me wrong, this a fantastic build, but I noticed one thing that was a little odd. The stop sign on the back. When it's out,it's going to be on the sidewalk instead of out in the street where the other driver can see it.
  9. That car has had 14,000 'looks' and not one bid. What does that tell you? I still like it though.
  10. Could I work from home?
  11. I fed my styrene addiction with the new (old) AMT 49 Mercury kit. So many build possibilities...
  12. What they said.. The little ones are only going to be little for a short time. You should be glad you have a wife and kids. That's something I've never had. A hobby is just that-a hobby. it shouldn't rule your life. Build when you can,but don't obsess over it. You're only going to be young once,so enjoy it while you can.
  13. I'm in for the 1/16th VW bus.
  14. Hey Tony, I had thought about doing that to an AMT 58 Impala. Never had the nerve to do it though. The closest I got was cutting an Earnhardt Lumina body in half and putting it on the whole chassis. The body was warped anyway.
  15. I'd like to have that, but not at that price. I'd like to see the original kit reissued too.
  16. after a little work,it seems to go together better. Yes,the newest chopped coupe reissue has moon discs, and the 'steel' wheels are chromed. No mag wheels.
  17. Nice!!!
  18. Thanks Snake! I took it all apart and filed those little slots and the ends of the spring. It looks like it will work better now. This kit has been around since the early 60's , so the technology isn't the best. The suspension fit is a little 'iffy' at best. I'm building a replica of the gold chopped coupe on the box.
  19. thanks guys. It's the latest version of the chopped coupe double T kit. The instructions are a little vague. I took it apart, and I'll try to fix those slots.
  20. I don't get this. Is this how the rear end fastens to the leaf springs? I placed the engine in the frame, and the whole rear end assembly has to go back about 1/4" and of course the rear radius rods are too far forward. Any ideas?
  21. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas! Last year was a good year for modeling, and 2015 looks good, too.
