  1. Look forward to seeing how this turns out.
  2. Since I mentioned No Quarter. Here is one of my favorites from the album.
  3. Thanks Dann. As far as the heat shield,I thought it would be challenging to recreate in the correct scale thickness. Also it doesn't rest directly on the side pipe so a scale means of attachment will be an additional challenge. I didn't want a poorly executed detail to detract from the completed model. Therefore no heat shield.
  4. Thank you gentlemen. Bob if you pickup the Academy kit you can check out my build thread to see how far you want to take your build. The basic kit has some good bones but needs a little work to make a correct 427. Shay, I file away the molded in wipers on the windscreen and added a strip of .010" x .080" styrene to simulate the rubber gasket on the 1:1. It leaves me with no semblance of wipers but I get a better fit. I think the compromise is worth it.
  5. Peter Gabriel - Shaking the Tree
  6. I enjoy artist’s reinterpretations of their own songs. Jimmy Page & Robert Plant’s – No Quarter is an album full of reinterpreted Led Zeppelin songs. What’s some of your favorites? One of mine is John Mellencamp’s – Rough Harvest album.
  7. Thanks Bill. It can be challenging to keep them all straight. I finally tracked down a reasonable priced copy of the SAAC Registry and this helps a lot.
  8. The front drive Miller Indy car used 1/4 elliptical front suspension.
  9. Dash look great Art.
  10. Turned out great Rob.
  11. Thank you gentlemen. VRM was kind enough to send me a set of the incorrectly printed decals along with some additional stripe snippets. As luck would have it the issue with the sheet only affects the '66 Sebring car. The way the stripes are currently printed the red stripe is on the driver side (which is incorrect) . I was able to splice together the stripes to achieve the correct orientation (red stripe on the passenger side). VRM is working to correct the error. These decals are some of the best I have ever used - highly recommended. The decals on the build are applied directly to the paint with no clear coat on top.
  12. Build thread: The current Cobra build collection:
  13. Base Kit: Sunny/Academy/Minicraft 427 Cobra Kit Bashed: Revellogram 427 Cobra – front suspension, hood, radiator, oil cooler, electrical boxes and wheels Engine: · block/transmission – Revell Parts Pack 427 · intake manifold, carburetor, cold air box and headers – Revellogram 427 Cobra · valve covers – Fujimi 427 Cobra · distributor and coil – Replicas & Miniatures Tires: Historic Racing Miniatures Decals: Vintage Racing Miniatures – Big Block Snake #1 Scratch-built: dash, roll bar, side pipes, remote oil tank, radiator shroud, dual batteries and tray Build time: 6 months This is the much maligned Minicraft/Sunny/Academy 427 Cobra kit not the Revell/Monogram kit. I wanted a 1:25 scale 427 to fit into the rest of my 1:25 scale Cobra collection.
  14. According to Friedman's book: "All windows except for the front windshield were made of plexiglass as well, and Design chief Bill Mitchells prized split rear window divider was let go too - in the interest of weight savings as well as visibility."
  15. I like the color Steve - what is it?
  16. Thanks Randy. Tamiya TS-30 Silver Leaf (spray can) on the body and Tamiya Titanium Gold (bottle) airbrushed on the wheels.
  17. I've have (3) more Cobra projects in progress that I have posted before: and a forth one I haven't shared photos of yet. But maybe I need a Cobra break - we'll see.
  18. I think I can squeeze it into my case but I appreciate the offer Ray.
  19. Thank Shay. I'm calling this one done. I'll post better pictures "Under Glass" when I can take them under natural light. Thanks everyone for following along.
  20. Typo on my part Jesse I did type in "Squad Rod" My point is take a few seconds and post a picture.
  21. I had no idea what kit you guys were talking about, and I suspect a few others didn't either. Googled "mod squad model kit" and bang a picture magically appears, copy & past and now we all know.
  22. Very nice.
  23. No, I don't like installing decals on tires even hard resin ones.
