  1. That is gonna look great!! Love the stance....great idea!
  2. Is good that you are ok.......my wife loves to laugh at my shortcomings too.....I once got picked up by my jaw and thrown like a ragdoll by a pry bar when setting a large diesel engine/trans at work. That story has her in tears ( ) every time.
  3. Yep it was the 1/24 scale....the tires are like rubber bands though, so I used the ones from the Maisto 1/18 scale diecast Jaguar XJ220.
  4. Stunning work on this Justin! Keep it up......gonna be just beautiful when done!!
  5. Thanks Justin! Me too..... Some progress....although slow because of the holidays. Still working on the side skirts so they did not make it into these pics, also decided to just use the wood pieces I am creating for the body. (I'm no good at fiberglass!!) *Wheels are from a Jada Shelby Cobra I bought on Ebay for cheap....still have to paint the centers on the rears. Tires are from an old 1/18 scale Jaguar XJ220. They are a little deep in the rear but I will probably go with it anyways.
  6. Man Ira! I am just amazed at what you come up with.....! This is gonna be cool! I think there is going to be a popcorn shortage soon!!
  7. Looks great in that color!! Nice and clean.
  8. Hey that is a cool idea Mike!!
  9. Welcome aboard Kenneth! From another Kenneth.........
  10. Cant wait to see what you do with this Tim!
  11. Welcome to the forum Tim!
  12. Beautiful work James! Sooooo crisp and clean!
  13. Thanks Jimmy! Today's small amount of progress........worked on the hoodscoop which will be a big help in the looks dept. (scoop will be bondo'd in and smoothed out soon.)
  14. My kitbashing usually involves 3-4 kits to make one car: alot of cutting, splicing, and numerous amounts of swearing so at this time I wouldn't be much help.If I think of anything easier though, I'll chime in because I think this is a good idea for a thread.
  15. A co-worker of mine is a woodworker in his spare time.....he donated a block of solid maple 3" x 4" x 16" long. Really nice wood, I plan on using it for "bucks" that will be sanded VERY smooth to make a mold from fiberglass, then I will cast the parts from the fiberglass mold into fiberglass parts. Much thinner and lighter than the wood.
  16. Yep, got it. I am no stranger to adding material.......this is just the beginning, the wood parts will be fiberglass in the end. The wheelwell arches will be added to and the rear is going to be built scratch. Next (today) will be the hood scoop and some more smoothing.......the scoop will be the larger hump style not the one above.
  17. Awesome looking model Roy! Glad you got it done!!
  18. Thanks! That is what I am hoping to find. Thank you Mike! I really appreciate the kind words and the help as well! Would have loved to do a fastback myself, but was afraid the contours would kill me.
  19. Thanks for the support Clint! I hope to create something here that will be cool to display.
  20. Made SOME progress today on this........still a lot of shaping needed but it is starting to look like something. STILL looking for an engine.......... On to the pics
  21. Thanks Ray! Hope I do not disappoint!
  22. Hey guys! Started another project.....yeah I know I need one more......! This is the goal \/ The donor kit was a gluebomb (!) trade from jrherald (james). It is the poopy 64 1/2 Mustang hardtop to start with........but will be a convertible when I'm done with it. 1st order of business was to fix the windshield frame....was broken at the "A" pillars.....fixed this by gluing small gauge bead wire to the underside of the "A" pillars and slightly adjusted the angle of the windshield. Next, I chopped the roof off which I will then make a boot cover for to mimic the top down. Then, I began the process of the GT500 front bumper. The bumper is going to be made from wood..... Still alot of work to be done on the front end but here are some pics of today's progress......
  23. Bill, What do you use as a mold release?
