Then it`s done after having my fair share of trouble and issues. Here is a little what is done. Flintstone body. (Many hours of sanding to make it decent) Lindberg chassis, interior and drivetrain, tires and hood scoop. Polar Lights max wedge exhaust from the 65 Coronet. Tamiya racing white exterior and Tamiya italian red with BMF ultra chrome and black chrome details interior. Missing Link dog dish caps and Scenes Unlimited steelies. Underhood decal from the Color Me Gone kit: Says Caution aluminium front end. Mirror from my parts box. Headlight lenses from ScaleProduction.de Here are some pictures, the light was really strange tonight. Hope you like it,or not, feel free to comment anyway lol. Some smaller adjustments and corrections will be adressed. Thanks for looking.

How many kits do you have in your stash?
om617 replied to danman6677's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Around 60 unbuilt from the 80s,90s and today. Around 10 unbuilt from the 60s and 70s. There is around 30 vintage restore projects. 10 resin kits and a box of parts cars/donors where there are around 14 cars. Very humble collection compared to some on here. Only bought one modern kit this year, the 67 Camaro 2 in 1. Fixing the oldies is expensive, and i try save up some to get the Moebius Pontiac`s and Plymouth. -
Here is a test with 70 Coronet tub from a build up i had. The chassis is Revell 68 Charger.

Looks really good. Who makes it? Speaking of resin, got this 68 Coronet yesterday, nice cast, very thin and easy to clean up.

I wait around 30min between coats, this goes for clear as well. For light handling,as move parts or body,i wait 3 or 4 hours. For harder handling as polish i would let it rest at least 24 hours. I`m sure people have diffrent interwall, just how i do it.

Lot of cool rides there, thanks for sharing. This one http://tenwheel.com/view/41445-1963_pontiac_safari_wagon___well_sorted__full_air_ride__crowd_pleaser__turn_key.html -
From Graveyard Cars on Facebook. Indoor that is,i guess it changes with indoor/outdoor light as most colors do. Actually a great site for referance photos.

It`s back from the dead. Used around 4-5 hours the other day to clean it with acrylic thinner, very "nice" smell. Primed and gave it some coats of the racing white yesterday, and i changed interior color from blue to red. Tomorrow i`ll get the exhaust and hood painted. Then it`s over to try foil it and do some interior improvement. Still have to run the heater hoses and get the battery and wires in,but this usually is done at the end. Thanks for the encouraging words along the way,i was tempted to give up a while there lol

4x4 conversion for 55-57 Chevrolet Pick up/Suburban.
om617 replied to om617's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Simon: PM sent. Bill: Thanks for the great write up,it should really be pinned somewhere. I dont really want to go this far as for having it correct,it will be way to time consuming and expensive. Any Chevy 4x4 around similar size as donor would be good enough for me.- 11 replies

Hello. Is there any good donors who can be used to convert the 55-57 Chevrolet pick up/suburban to 4x4? Maby anyone know of any aftermarket or kit who can have the suspension parts? I`m not looking for anything crazy tall like monster trucks or such,i`m hoping to get close to factory ride height,or around there. I`ll throw in a referance picture so you can see what i was hoping to get close to. I follow a guy on Youtube called redneck restoration, and there was a really interesting 55-57 Stepside, original 4x4 with manual, this car was fitted with a factory Pontiac 317. This kinda inspired me,or got me set for another project, like i havent got enought Thanks Tommy

"Holy Grail" Models?
om617 replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Got the Buick (s) ,but no luck with the Charger. If it`s true how Revell maby will put out the 70 i`ll be fine with the Revell kit because this is a subject i want to build. New unicorn to the list is the AMT 63 Bonneville hardtop. -

Widest engine for '29 Ford with hood sides?
om617 replied to LDO's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think you can forget about any 32valve head engines because how wide they are. Maby the GM LS9 if you skip the top plastic cover. -

Suggestions prep resin body for paint.
om617 replied to om617's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Great results. I have had success with some of the kits i stripped, those where similar to the flat metallic you post pictures on. The chassis, often flat black, and i have a 64 Belvedere and 71 Formula 400 in solid color where the PP looks to have no effect. I should consider get Super Clean, from your experience and what i can see i think it is a bit more effective then Purple P. There is a certain satisfaction to clean these when you see how nice they usually are under the awful paint. Thanks for sharing the pictures. -
Suggestions prep resin body for paint.
om617 replied to om617's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks. Is Super Clean more effective on old solid colors and metallics? So far i only used Tamiya primer, and i do not know what primer was used on those old restore objects. Good tip. The Purple Power does work very well on resin for taking off the mold release, and does not damage it. -
