    50 Olds

Very cool. It looks exactly like those sunburnt desert cars i see sometimes advertised for sale,.
  2. Very nicely done. Dig the style.
  3. I really like old cars ,and Japanese are no exception. Got these yesterday.

    1960 DeSoto

Beautiful! The wheels are spot on.
  5. Really nice Galaxie. What engine does it have?
  6. Thanks for the feedback. The wheels and brakes comes together. I could not find 17" minilites or similar wheels in 5 lug,so it became the ones you see. The wing is for function, not to be a pos,it gives stability and traction at high speed.
  7. Great looking custom.
  8. Another great Mopar from you, looks really nice.
  9. Sweet! Love the color and overall looks of this.
  10. Hi! This was the kit i started as i register on this forum a year ago. Have had some issues on the way, been putting it away and pulling it back million times. I tried to figure out a theme for it,did not want huge chromed wheels, and make it look bagged,i do like the style sometimes tho. So it is supposed to represent somthing you can drive everyday, haul down the dragstrip or throw around the track. Drivetrain is LS7 with two massive turbos, this linked to an 6speed manual, big brembo brakes, some meaty tires, the wheels are 17". The body is stock besides shaved markers, door locks, the rear wing, the front spoiler, and it`s lowered and given some agressive camber. Inside is stock beside Viper Coupe seats. I have not finished the exhaust, still waiting on some styrene rods. Color is Tamiya white pearl, the primer is actually red, this is why it looks grey. Then there are decals (i was unlucky some places) from Firebird Design if i remember right. Not everyones cup of tea,but here is some pics.
  11. Thanks Andy,Ron,John and Harry. Lee,after looking around on pics it seem there was plenty of colors (not factory i assume) that have been used. They are meant to look like foglights as mentioned. It looks kinda cool imo,but taste is subjective. I noticed now i have the wrong color on the turn signal/park lights, they should be Amber. Here is one inspiration source.
  12. Indeed they did. As you can see on the original car the letters are much closer to the edge of the hood. I looked thru tons of pics for referance, just to check if i had somthing wrong with my eyes, but this bummer i will credit the person who did the lettering.
  13. That sure is sweet and i love all the detail put into it,the red one is really cool as well.
  14. Half of the lettering is on the molding itself. My option was to respray the hood (i dont have the color or color code) or compromise by doing this. The hood is also some mm to long, this or the front fenders are some mm to short. The original painted molding are not very nicely done.
  15. This is the snap kit from Polar Lights. I wish i could say it was just to snap it together, but it`s far from the truth,if i`m not just really out of luck as for what fitment concern. Anyway,i put on some foil, not so easy with the sloppy original painted moldings. I changed the interior color from tan to red,and the engine color from blue to black. Did an attempt at giving the engine and surroundings little bit of detail as wires, heater hoses, coil wire, battery wire, and some decals. The hood is not put 100% in place, such an hazzle to get it off later on. I wanted to try blackwash on the grill in front of the windsheild, but the one i used on the grill i did not dare to try because it`s made of clear and black paint lol. Some pictures.
  16. Thanks Larry,Alan and Glen. Thanks Stan. The color is Tamiya TS-57 Champagne Gold. I used white Tamiya primer so it might appear more silver then champagne.
  17. I`ll try take a picture when i get home. The rear section comes from an AMT pro-street car,so it was already tubbed.
  18. Thanks for the feedback.
  19. Great detail on the engine and sweet exhaust. Did you make the sparkplug boots? They look great.
  20. The original wheels was special order from rally gurus Speedline. Not that i know, but i`m pretty sure they are function over form, because when you are going close to 220mph aerodynamics are kinda important.
  21. Revell 69 Charger pro modeler kit, build one or two ways, very nice kit if i might say so. As for me i had in mind stock, but this always seem to fail as it goes on. Ok,some facts, primer and paint are Tamiya TS. Distributor is MAD,the supercharger is BNL,i used Alclad on this, the carburators, the air intake is body color (hard to see). Engine is the 426 from the kit (It also comes with an 440 magnum). 4speed manual, stock interior with some foil and attempt at woodgrain paint.flocked the floor and the shelf behind the rear seats. The body is all stock. The floor/chassis is AMT and Revell put together,70/30. Oh yeah,i forgot the mirrior inside the car, also i dont have any braided wire for fuel so i could attempt detail a little more. I belive the washer container should be white, but i took the chance and painted blue on the inside, and its clear. I consider try getting some sort of jig for fuel/brake lines later on,its extremely difficult holding with one hand and fix with the other lol. Wheels are "Customs by Terry" on Ebay. The supercharger belt is from Mike DeLuco "Shucky",yeah i think thats about it. This is my first pro street car so i hope you like it. Also i would like to thank Jeremy Newman "outkast1027" for the rear tires. Here are some pictures.
  22. I really like the Jay Leno`s Garage on Youtube. Nice blend of serious, facts and little bit of joking around. I know it`s an cliche who always seem to annoy some, but hes storys from he was young is really funny and interesting. The variety is very nice,he is truly passioned about cars and everything that goes with it. Not sure if many have noticed,he seem to have tons of memorabilia on the walls. Jay looks to be an original, always the same denim shirt,as Boyd did with hes Hawaii lol. I have never seen one episode of the talkshow, maby because of my location,i only know him as a car guy.
  23. X2 Been following this over a year. Looking good.
  24. Amazing finish,detail and craftsmanship.
  25. Cool idea. These are good looking cars even if they are small. I bet it will move "a little" better now with it`s new powerplant.
