  1. Wow, just wow. You got some krazy skiils.
  2. Got some of the body parts painted today. The color is Duplicolor Inferno Red with three coats of Duplicoler Clear. I started to detail the motor but I may go look for a more correct color for the motor.
  3. I'd also like to heard more of what is in the 1/20 kit. I got the 1/20 Gremlin at Ollies but it's a basic build it one way curbside. It would be nice to get a few extra parts to make it nicer.
  4. I should have done a search for pictures instead of going by the instructions Thanks for the tips.
  5. I primed most of it today, which really made the details pop up. This is a pretty nice model. I got the motor all puttied and painted so I can start detailing it tomorrow. If I don't spend to much time at the doctors office maybe some color will show up. Ive never done a model with the wheels and tires, how would you paint them?
  6. No large issues yet. I got to prime some of it yesterday and found I needed to to do a little more putty and sanding work. I hope to start painting colors today. I had to do some sanding on the hood to get a better fit on it. The kit took some sanding to remove flashing from the edges.
  7. Thanks for the tips. I'll have to look around for the Chrysler wheels and tires. I wonder if bigger tires would fill the wheel wells and make the car look lower. If not, it shouldn't be too hard to lower the suspension a little. Since I started building again two years ago I learned a lot more skills and hope to learn more on this kit.
  8. I 'll keep posting updates. It's been raining a lot so I haven't been able to do much priming and painting. I've kept busy putting and sanding though.
  9. A few pictures of the beginning of this kit.
  10. I just posted a review of the Auburn in the review section, with some pictures.
  11. I got this kit at Ollies $7.99 Sale. Another member ask me to to review this kit as he was interested in building it, so here goes. I'm not a super builder so keep this in mind while reading this review. The kit looks to be an easy kit to build, and has some nice details. The box states that minimal gluing to build which backs up the easy to build statement. If you were to do a quick and easy build you could, but to make this model look nice you'll need to do some putting and sanding on it . It might be a nice slump buster because of the easy build, but some what challenging to make it nice. Some pictures. nice box art. It has a motor with it even though the chassis just shows a cast in lower end.
  12. I'll open the box tomorrow and look it over, and get back to you.
  13. Went back to Ollies today for these.
  14. Now I'm super bummed. As I open the box for the Stuz I'm thinking of an engine swap. I have some Ford flathead V-8s and a couple of flathead 4s that might make a cool upgrade or even one of the V-8s in my backup parts would be a neat upgrade if I could hide one under the original hood. Then I open the parts bag and pull the chassis out it looks pretty big, and a quick looks at the box shows a 1/16 model. but it will still look nice when I'm done.
  15. Just a warning on the Gremlin, it's a 1/20 curbside kit. Even though the box is clearly mark so, I didn't see it and I started kit bashing in my mind. Now I'm bummed out.
  16. I went back today and got these. Chris, I didn't see your post until after I went, and no on the Mercedes. I may wait a few days and go back because the last time they had the kits they restocked the shelves with a few different kits. If I do go back, I'll check on the Minicraft kits for you.
  17. Got these for $7.99 at Ollies today.
  18. In todays add mailing. I picked these up in Hazleton, PA. The selection. Get 'em while they are cheap. I may go back tomorrow for the Gremlin.
  19. Looks real. Great job.
  20. Thanks. I thought about leaving the mirrors off, but as I wanted a street looking car I put them on. The location is where the holes were to mount them, But I maybe should have moved it closer to the window and went with one. I had an old Ford years ago and I remember the mirror being mounted to far down the fender to reach from the inside. People got a kick out of moving the mirror around and watching me get in and out of the car adjusting it. Yep, it's green. I've never done a green model, and wanted a lighter shade shade. The cap color looked a couple of shades lighter in the store, but I my have put it on heaver that the cap color. Maybe I should have gone with silver over the primer to get it a little lighter.
  21. Looks nice. Good choice of color.
  22. Just posted the finished pictures in the Under Glass section. Thanks for following the build.
  23. I finished it last night and gave a little polish this morning. Started with this kit. It's painted in Duplicolor Ford Cayman Green Met. The paint was coated with Future and got a final polish with Novis # 1. The motor is from a 68 Mustang Shelby GT 500, with resin carbs. The front wheels are from Scale Equipment LTD and the battery box is from Calnaga Catings.. I tried to use some gasser parts from my small parts supply, but I couldn't get the stance I wanted with what I have on hand, so the chassis is in no way realistic. I used Gofer decals for the gauges and sponsor decals on the rear window. The floor shift and roll bar are from my spare parts. This is my first try at BMFing the small letters and logos, so I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. Thanks for looking.
  24. It took longer then I thought to get the hood to fit right. I had to pull the front grill/bumper off and knocked a few small parts off the motor. It's done now, got the hood looking better, and I'll get some good finished pictures and post the in the Under Glass section tomorrow. Thanks for following the build.
