Thanks, Tom and Chuck! I actually liked the green on the box art build but when I saw it in orange, that is the way I had to go. This one is not a contest contender, just a shelf model.
Thanks, Jeff and Peter. I see Fotki is acting up. One picture, the middle one, is now missing.....sigh. I'll give it some time, maybe it will come back.
Scott, you beat me to it. I am going to finish up my 24 hour build and hopefully, do my Dragonfly next. What color did you paint yours? Bright white, off-white? Are you going to post any WIP pics? I am looking forward to seeing how yours comes out.
WOW!!! That is nice! I have 3 battleships in 1:350 scale, all with extra PE and wooden decks. I can appreciate how much work went into this model. Any idea how many hours you have in it? Have you done any other ships?
Like a few others, this style is not my cup of tea, but this one is so cool and so well done that I just had to give you a thumbs up. Cool concept and outstanding execution.
There is some very nice work going on here, James! It is amazing to me how that little pulley trick makes such a big difference on the pulleys' appearance. I had never seen or heard of that before.
I use the same on as Jonathan. I am happy with it. You can use different backgrounds and different lighting for different looks. You can make the same model come across much different with a few little changes.
