  1. Another nice one, Robert. These kits are not for the faint of heart, mostly due to all of the decals. You sir, are a brave man!
  2. Very cool racer, Bruce. Real eye candy! Who's decals did you use? Were they easy to use? I think they look great.
  3. Tom, you don't know this yet, but you may very well become my #1 hero... I have many, many model kits, almost exclusively cars. I am not a truck builder. I have two truck kits and two trailer kits. I have the Moebius Lonestar and trailer. What are the other two? Exactly what you pictured above! The re-pop of the Freightliner and the tandems. I was given those two kits as a kid in the mid 70s (?) and built them. I remember all of those tires! However, I have absolutely no memory or idea of what happened to them. Not a clue. As I got back into the hobby, I have tried to pick up all of the kits I had as a kid and that is why I have these two. I am almost willing, (shoot, I AM willing), to beg you to post as many in-progress pictures and details as you can. You really have no idea how happy and excited I am to have come across this thread. I apologize ahead of time if I ask a thousand ridiculous questions. Again, I am not a truck builder. I don't know this genre at all. I will have to figure out who "Hank" is and go to his site Man-o-man, am I excited about this thread!!!

Very nice, Ray. Beautiful color combos throughout the model.
  5. Dang Jason, the engine is looking GREAT. Love the last photo, the overhead one. You are doing an outstanding job on this!
  6. This is really nice, Matt. I've been following it since your first post. You're doing a great job on it.
  7. I really like these cars and I really like yours! You did a great job with the PE.
  8. That is one very, very nice hot rod!
  9. Mike, the Asteroids game is GREAT!! Long story short, you know how every convenience store had several video games? And there were video arcades? And eventually the video games started disappearing from lack of being used? Well, they had to go somewhere. My buddy knew a guy from "American Vending" and they worked a deal for my buddy to buy some video games from the warehouse. He ended up buying 13 full sized arcade games plus this Asteroids game for me. Got it for $100. It is in great shape and fully functional!
  10. That is how my area looked before I decided to build my room. I even have the breaker box.....lol. Look at my first picture, it is behind the gray #3 wall covering, (behind the LA Street Chopper model). It was getting harder and harder to stay organized without shelving and storage areas.
  11. Yes Steve, I do get some work done, just not nearly enough. I haven't been down there at all this Summer. I go down to throw on the Opti-visor to dig out the occassional sliver or un-knot one of my wife's necklaces.....lol. Give it time Miles, give it time....... At one time I only had three unbuilt models . There is a lot of years of collecting, birthday gifts, Father's Day gifts, Christmas gifts, Boss' Day gifts, this is a great price and I can't pass it up gifts to myself, etc, etc. Seriously, I have found over time that if I do not pick up a kit that I want when I see it, there is a good chance that I will miss out on it and may not be able to find it later. This is my only vice. My one indulgence. I hope everyone else enjoys this hobby as much as I do.
  12. Absolutely G O R G E O U S ! ! ! ! !
  13. Another nice one, Jonathan!
  14. I think she looks good, Jonathan. Nice job!
  15. Congratulations to you and your wife!!!
  16. I thought I would share some pictures of my hobby room / Earnhardt shrine. When I started back in this hobby I used a card table to build on. I moved to a home-made bench in a bare basement. The bench was next to the washer and dryer and all of the lint that comes with it. There was no heat. I would tack up an old bed spread from the floor joists to keep the lint out and the heat in. I did this for a number of years until I decided to make a dedicated room for my hobby. The room has evolved over the years and I have ran out of room for my goodies. These pictures were taken almost a year ago when I did my yearly cleaning and organizing. I am kind of a neat freak and keep my room pretty organized at all times. Hope you all enjoy the pictures. I absolutely love this room and regret not spending more time in it. This is the view as you open the door. Did you catch the ceiling tiles? Looking to the left. At bench, looking to the right. At the bench, looking back. I ran out of room inside the room so I had to move some kits to the outside.....
  17. Fantastic model. You did a great job on it. Nice job on the two tone paint.
  18. That is a great looking model, Fred.
  19. Wow Bruno!! I like it. Great job.
  20. Very, very nice model, Charbel. Body, interior and chassis, all very nice!
  21. O.K., here you go Kevin. This is from June 1983. I have better pictures of the car but thought I would post the Deals on Wheels ad.
  22. Hahaha, I'll have to dig it out and scan it.
  23. Deals on Wheels!!!........Yes, how could I forget. Right before I left for the USAF, I put my car in Deals on Wheels. Ended up selling it locally but I still, to this day, have that copy of Deals on Wheels.
  24. I've got to be honest, as a kid growing up in the 70's, in the middle of North Dakota, (meaning no big city nearby and no car culture), I would pour through every page of the JC Whitney catalog and dream about how I would "customize" my not-even-owned-yet car. Heck, I even ordered a thing or two. I laugh about it now but that JC Whitney catalog was as good as the Sears Wish Book at Christmas!
