In the past there were company reps who interacted with the public in forums, but since a few years, there's no more active involvement. I'm guessing they weigh the pro's, cons and percentage of useful info they can pick up, against the costs of having an employee participating or just reading and filtering useful info. Also there's a saying, talking is silver, but silent is gold, especially to prevent the proverbial slip of the tongue when a competitor is reading that same board. just my thoughts on the matter. You're right, the Turbo Trans Am was announced in the '80 catalog (carrying snowflakes) but the real kit in the '81 catalog show "flying saucer" wheels, it's kit #2605. The 6.6 with snowflakes, is announced in the '87 catalog...and has product-number, 2611

IIRC...it was first released as a Black '79 with those "flying saucer" wheels, then a few years later came a "copper/Gold" turbo with the wheels like the '77 -'78. I'll try to check my Monogram catalogs later in the day....

I doubt it, I'm wondering if those kits weren't marketed to be "large gift" from "loved ones" to give something substantial to their husband, friend or son. A market totally lost IMHO, due to the availability and wide range of 1/18th die-casts. What I'm wondering about is, if it would be possible, to use a Monogram '81 Trans Am, "in part or whole" as a tooling model for a brand new 1/25 scale kit? Luc

My dad found some great stuff while doing a online search, he found a Chinese company which sells 1/24 scale RC combat tanks with a whole lotta features, then searching a little more, he stumbled onto a link to accessories where he found 1/24 scale Jerry cans and Oil drums… Anyway, he placed an order (two sets for the grand price of $15.00, including shipping), and got the parts last Friday, they do look good as I saw them today, anyway took some pics from one set we opened.... The manufacturer is “VS tank” (Look for “upgrade parts” in one of their German WWII tanks selection) Luc Ps: A special thanks to John K. Dezan, for hosting the photo’s.

Art, are they scanning the parts then, and feed that data into whatever steers the milling machines? Interesting approach, do hope that Dave posts pics. Thx Luc

I know what you're talking about Marc, close to 10 years ago I was able to buy a mint Airfix '67 GTO, which was no more then a re-boxed Mpc annual for the UK market and was amazed on how much nicer and crispier it was, compared to the last shots which came from that tired tool. more photo's of this kit on the Ultimate GTO website Luc

Huh...the Impala shown is a presumably a test shot, which was probably build in October of last year...a lot can happen before it gets released. Luc

I'm planning some sort of fuel truck, using the albeit shortened body of the trailer kit, on an Amt Ford C-900 (the stake truck) kit. I remember seeing such an old truck on my travels thought the western US, years ago....

I wasn't too happy when they re-popped that one, after laying down close to a 100 bucks, for an unbuild original. But then again, sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. Last month or so I even bought the Model King issue, the decals alone are worth the price so I guess I'm over it

Len & Bill, When done, you should propose to Revell to post this online build on their website, so that model builders everywhere can benefit from it. I dunno if your build was done step by step as per the provided instruction sheet, cuz that would be even better to not confuse the novice builder. As you said a picture says more then a thousand words...... Keep up the great work you both! Mitch...was your car a '67 Model with '68 Fenders (with side reflectors/markers) or did you fill the mounting holes (openings) in the quarter panels. Ether way a neat car indeed!!! Best regards Luc
