  1. That's just the "problem" there is no logic in the tool parts layout, therefore they clip off the not needed parts in the packaging process, now anyone who's a bit familiar with a production process know that's the weak link. When designing a tool, one has to group parts to specific release together, so they can be isolated or run depending on what version you're producing, now I'm not saying Moebius can't pull it off, it's just a word of caution, and if you have an open line with those in charge please message them, making sure the kit is according to specifications, before it hits the market.
  2. I agree. until now no mistakes, just a caution from a guy who's former job was streamlining production and making it error proof.
  3. Before releasing it to the public I do hope they pick a production kit to check if the right parts are clipped off.
  4. Where are the days when most new was announced every fall, at the Chicago RCHTA trade show.
  5. Nice or rather ice, cus I get shivers down my spine from the paint job Great job, could be one of the cars displayed at the Darryl Starbird's museum.
  6. Being "that Belgian guy" you make me feel kinda special Guess we're lucky that they had budget to retool for an non SS grille Got to have it, yep you got that right, not that many American vehicles with two doors too many on the model kit market, Ha! Cheers! Luc
  7. Dunno how popular this generation Mustang is, but if there's more then enough interest and adequate funding can be secured, tooling up the whole gen ('79-'93) could make sense. I would appoint Tim (there's no vote on this Tim because of your track record at FoMoCo and knows the defintion of a plastic model kit) to be head of research for such a project, finding out what will be common between them and what unique, to make a logic parts and tool design. Maybe one can start by buying all the Mpc annuals comparing the parts, what's to like, what not.... Ah it's nice to dream... Luc Ps: Still strange though that Revell didn't include a GT hatch sibling when designing the LX tool...
  8. Indeed, have one and it sure looks good.
  9. With a molotow pen you can chrome it in under a minute.
  10. Indeed, cuz the bulk of the Revell USA kits which are sold here in the €20 ball park, come most likely from diverted shipments from when Revell USA was in limbo.
  11. And since modelers are cheapskates
  12. That's why they released it as a '68 first, and maybe those who built that will venture into this release too. Too bad though they didn't do a Yenko version, which would set it more apart from the Round2 kit .
  13. Thanks for the heads up Casey!!!
  14. Thanks, see! you helped me off topic! At least I can spell Camaro LOL
  15. Heard the same about Ford, if I remember correctly they even can provide copies of original blueprints BTW if one has FB and interested in an online build of the kit, click on link. Ford Mustang GT4 Tamiya / Scale 1:24
  16. The hobby is kind of a solitary affair, and for many (certainly during this pandemic) fora and FB the only window to the world with like minded, so yes we there will be wondering off topic, just as it happens when talking face to face, sharing ideas, views... IMHO there's nothing wrong with it, and by underlining the wondering off in this topic, it further wondered off
  17. As long as it's civil and constructive, I don't see the harm, but you're the man Cheers Luc
  18. Haven't the faintest idea, what your talking about Dave The language barrier is real, but I try ?
  19. No they're static museum pieces now.
  20. A good friend once said to me that grosso modo they count $1000 per cavity for a standard kit.
  21. That's probably why the skill level was introduced and even then there will be hiccups, because there will be "what look like simple" kits, which won't assemble without a lot of cursing and maybe even get tossed into the trashcan. Many parts doesn't necessary mean more difficult, a good design will carry a long way, it's like with puzzles, more pieces can elongate the fun, grab you by the ... and make the sense of accomplishment bigger when finished IMHO the most common problem with first time builders will be the painting process, not so the small parts which will be brush painted but more so the bigger like the body, and I don't see Round two or Revell endorsing Tamiya spray paints which IMHO are the best available for the task. What IMHO needs to be avoided at all costs is that a cheap diecast model looks better than the more expensive built kit, cuz that will be a major turn off especially for first timers. Anyway again just my 2 cents, your mileage may vary and no problem with that .
  22. The question is, how much longer will it work for them, as we all know the sales mostly come from impulse buyers, and kit's like for example the recently re-released Mpc '67 GTO and the '69 Yenko, both models of popular subject matter, which can (and will IMHO) do more harm than good for the brand and the industry as a whole, especially with the surge on sales volume due to the current pandemic shut in's, which seems to inspire many to try something new, or again picking up with a hobby from many many moons ago and for these people the following saying applies (more so than to us lunatic fringe who can build an outstanding model from a turd) ; "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me", Just my 2 cents, your mileage may vary
