  1. As did the fenders in the headlamp area
  2. I never understood the combination of well detailed and promo headlamps.
  3. Also one on Art's watch
  4. From what I've read, it's been delayed due to some re-tooling problems.
  5. Yeah, too me it looks like a banana, but Art Anderson always said it was accurate
  6. Think this one and the Supernatural Chevy will be the only kits Round-2 will sell me this year, because of the following: - Subject matter never offered before - Subject matter which hasn't been available for about 50 years Both aforementioned kits, show that it takes money to make money, do hope sales will reflect that.
  7. Don't get high hopes, like with every "new" Round-2 kit, I wait for a review on which I will decide buy or no buy.
  8. Yeah, but guess the bank still owns the tooling, so they have to sell mediocre product too just to pay off the loan, besides there's a sucker born every minute, hopefully for them these weekend builders aren't connected to the www. Think the most if not all of the investment (percentage wise) in new product goes to designing new packaging and decals. Anyway it is what it is...and maybe a good thing too, cuz they're saving me money, I otherwise would spend on yet again a new model kit, like I don't have enough of these already, Ha!
  9. About the lack of engine in the most recent Tamiya Mustang GT4 kit... Dear Mr. Janssens, Thank you for contacting us, and for your question regarding the engine in our 1/24 Ford Mustang GT4 model. When it comes to developing a kit, while our designers certainly do their best to keep everyone happy with the quality of our models, we have to be in tune with what the market wants, and this means that sometimes we are not able to put in all the detail that some modelers would like, for pricing or other reasons (ease of assembly, accessibility). At any rate, it is our sincere hope that the Mustang GT4 kit provides great enjoyment for modelers of all levels. I'm really appreciate that you picked up TAMIYA products for enjoying. Thank you again, ****************************************** A.AOKI TAMIYA inc. Customer service div.
  10. Stevens International lists a amt '64 Cutlass convertible as TBA, it's the annual kit with a newly tooled convertible body.
  11. There's funny thing about this version, which is... that they come with Mpc tires, the same which came in their Warlock Dodge uteline, an extra leaflet included in the box shows how to remove the "spider" from the tire prior to mounting the wheels.
  12. Just saw that today my local store shows it as in stock, one month earlier as they were told by their distributor, Think I'll pass there next week to pick up my reserved copy.
  13. So if I converted correct, the top of the roof has to be raised a little over 5mm BTW looks great!
  14. Yes, but It's also a smaller scale, and if you do want one, the aftermarket is huge! I'm pretty sure, the aftermarket will come to the rescue for those of us who want an engine, look what unfolded after the Hasegawa BMW 2002Tii came to market...
  15. Hmm...maybe the moderators should move part of this tread to the Tamiya GT4 discussion
  16. No matter what the box says, to me the Revell kit is a just a toy, made from the OEM 3D files of the car's skin, think lower price die-casts have more detail than that. Why Revell didn't do a full detail kit, maybe you have to ask a company rep, next time you see one at some hobby venue, but the last Corvette kit was also going the simplistic route, so I guess without OEM backing the ROI on modern factory stock cars isn't there anymore, most likely one of the reason Tamiya chose to do the GT4, as well as other oriental company's renewed interest in racing subject matter. Why Round2 did make a full kit from this gen Camaro, and not the Mustang, good question, which only Tom Lowe can answer, personally I don't give the Revell toy a pass, cuz I passed The Tamiya kit, even without an engine, as built by Sascha Müller, looks ready to race
  17. That isn't a kit, just an un-assembled promotional kids toy. For the rest I like engines, but sometimes sadly one can't have it all, my Tamiya kit is on order, but passing on the ex Mpc kit as it's not representing the subject matter to my liking.
  18. Indeed, good catch Rob! My Sheriff's and regular Blazer also.
  19. IIRC the top of the windshield trim will be the top of the new window opening on top of that you will need to scribe new window trim.
  20. have one, will scan and post later this evening..
  21. It didn't even met '88 expectations, but yes indeed Round2 prime target are the nostalgia seekers, therefore they even retool long lost odd custom stuff, most of the aged impulse buyers used for building their kit back in the day, when they were still in their single digits or fresh into the double, so guess in a few decades these nostalgia revival builds and partly builds will show on ebay as part of estate sales
