Thank you, @Claude Thibodeau; the more angles we see this from, the more there is to love. Agreed; sometimes going curbside or full slammer is the only way to keep a major body restyling project from getting out of hand. While a similar roofline treatment could be applied to virtually any car, there seems to be none better-suited I can think of than the 70 Eldo. The vertical slope of the rear window profile, matched with the trunk and taillights, is very pleasing to the eye. Looks quite natural; like it should've come from the factory this way. In fact, comparing your design to a factory Eldo, your greenhouse has a really nice balance over the rear wheel arches. While the original's roofline is quite sporty, yours is the sportiest! Model built by @RandyB.

Fantastic collection, @Radretireddad! Really nice Charger, too. I recently completed a mint MPC EXP (molded in blue). Such a thrill; nostalgia is the best drug. I originally butchered one of these a kid. I've built many Taurus' over the years; another fine kit worthy of reissue. And the Probe, wow. That one needs to come back, too! I rebuilt a gluebomb in the 90s as a pro street, and called it PROBE STREET, heh.

Wow! At the risk of a thread derail, I'm really stoked to get the Grand Am funny car. As much as I wanted the Green Elephant, I've been holding out for the Grand Am. Also, I see the Son of Trouble Maker, which I missed out on when my LHS had one. Will have to track one of those down! The Pie Wagon looks kinda cool, and I could have a lot of fun with that.

Agreed, @Luc Janssens This kit is one of my grails, that I butchered as a kid, but I still loved it. Really looking forward to doing a better job this time. I believe I heard it said here a few years ago, the Stunt Van's chrome sprue actually had the square headlight grille. Me personally, I can't remember which grille the kit had, though a few other dudes here agreed/confirmed it has the square headlights, making the box art wrong. Square or round, I'll happily build this kit again, though yes, a backdated grille with clear headlights would be super awesome!

Thank you for posting the instructions; this kit totally flew under the radar for me. At the time, I'd already built several of Monogram's 56, and had no interest in the AG tie-in. Judging only by what I'm seeing here, there seems to be: - no carburetor - no rear shocks - wheels appear to go together in a pretty non-typical way - rear axle mounts to frame with what appears to be simplified coilovers/posts (not prototypically correct) - does anyone know what parts 79 and 80 are for the interior's dash? - do the headlights not include chromed bezels? I do have a dead AMT 57 gluebomb in need of resurrection; I might pick one of these up to bring it back to life, thanks!

Agreed. While I do like the AMT Econolines, I'm really looking forward to some/any of the old MPC Econolines. They had some nice custom 2WD versions, though me personally, I'm really stoked to have either of the 4WD versions come back!

Wow wow wow. That Blazer is. IN. SANE. Those frame rails alone are a tour de force. Everything else is just as stellar. Thank you, Revell, for going the extra mile. And running up that hill.

While I butchered mine back in the day, this Daytona remains a great kit. I hope it sells well. Strong sales could inspire Round 2 to resurrect MPC's dusty EXP, Cavalier, and Fiero kits. A couple years back, I redeemed myself somewhat by bashing an 88 Daytona with MPC's 69 Daytona. Front-mounted Hemi, shortened rear wheel drive chassis, tucked-in rear bumper, scratchbuilt wing, and several other tweaks. Which reminds me, I have a mint Silver Bullet Omni 024, and this 440 ain't gonna stuff itself inside.

Me personally, I grew up with all these cars, so any kit I can get my hands on of 70s and 80s stuff always makes me smile. While young kids might not have much interest in old cars, per se, they certainly are more open to 'em when there's some guidance involved. I'm teaching my dude all about the American classics, and he's teaching me all about the modern Japanese and Euro stuff. So, whether building a Tamiya Skyline R34 Z-Tune, or an MPC 78 Dodge Monaco, together, young and old are unstoppable.

Did someone say HUNTER? HPI Guy built his Joker Monaco just like that, way back in 2018:

Agreed 128%, @stavanzer! There are many months each year where there are 5-6 I need to get, so I've learned to appreciate those few lean months. Remembering back to most of the 90s, where 5-6 new kits/reissues were announced yearly via the catalogs, released quarterly, and always coming out in a trickle. Now, Round 2 blasts us pretty much every month, and me personally, I love it.

Congrats on the nice Photoshop work here. Round 2 not only recoloured the original box art photo of a real car from red to white, but also "corrected" the wheels to match the incorrect ones in the actual kit. They even Photoshopped in the BFG tires it came with. Hopefully, if Round 2's recent Shelby Charger is any indication, which featured updated Eagle ZR45s (as seen in HPI Guy's video), this kit would be really nice on a set of those. In a perfect world, they would have corrected the crab wheels, but maybe someone has an aftermarket set available?

So stoked for this stock DeLorean; for years and years I was tempted to un-BTTF kits I saw, but so glad I held out for the real deal. Thank you Aoshima.

Excellent! Looks like a recolouring of the box art for the Warren Stewart kit. IIRC, the last time this kit was available was back in 2000 as part of AMT's Millennium collection. Judging by the box side art: ...the chassis looks near identical to the Valiant/Scamp/Dart kit HPI Guy built a few years ago, with exception of the tinwork, from behind the driver's seat, to the back of the car. I've never built either kit, and would love to get this one, thanks!

Atlantis Models has bought another lot of tooling/molds.....
Stef replied to Dave Van's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Not gonna lie, these classic Revell 62 Mopars are 99% new to me, and I am sooooo happy to discover them and get any/all that Atlantis will release. Looking at the chassis and engine bay, I'm getting a bit of a Johan vibe, and that sort of feel/nostalgia makes me very happy. Thank you Atlantis for bringing these hidden gems to light. -
Agreed, @StanGlover, in all the squillions of kits I've bought over the past century or two, only a handful ever had any problems. If anything, we're all much more trepidatious about cracking open vintage MPC kits, infamous for their tire melt!
-
Sorry about your loss, @StanGlover. I've not gotten the 71 Mustang yet, but on a somewhat related note, last year, I got my copy of the 76 Chevy Custom Van. It was missing one of the seats, and the chrome sprue was partially crushed, where one of the wheels was utterly pulverized. Hoping these quality control issues are rare one-offs, and not a growing trend of lowered standards!

Wow, looks like lots of cool Mopars there! Am I seeing what looks like a Johan 62 Plymouth Fury? Or Revellion with a filled-in trunk? Or could it be Revell's classic 62 Dart? Hopefully, this link will go directly to Casey's 2019 post for comparison: -
Wow, @Steamboat, this is insane awesome. Love your big boat gasser vibe, and you've just inspired me to rip into my 59 Galaxie Starliner and give it a similar treatment. Your "Cretin" moniker is a hilarious pièce de résistance that will be hard to match, let alone beat!

Why was the Supernatural 67 Impala 4 door kit discontued?
Stef replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I remember reading that awhile back too, @stavanzer. I'm no expert; maybe we builders adding B-pillar detail and changing a few other things up a bit might be sufficient-enough to serve as a decent representation? -

Stef replied to GMP440's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Never got around to building either the Impala 2-door or supernatural 4-door; would love love love to build this kit up as a taxi, fire chief, or police car, poverty caps and all! -
Replica of my 1970 Superbird Tribute car
Stef replied to Superbird McMonte's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Agreed, @Superbird McMonte, truly one of the best films ever made. Definitely in my top 5, too. Sorry for the derail, but a most green one. Getting back on topic, your supergreen Superbird is the BIG BADA BOOM, and I am a meat popsicle. -

Agreed 128%. Hope all Bronco variants sell. One thing I'm curious about; most of the IRL Broncos I see are 4-doors. I'm wondering if the 2-door kit variants sell well-enough, Round 2 might come out with 4-door versions? If so, I'd imagine that would require a LOT of new tooling, mostly because of its longer wheelbase. So we'd better show our love and snatch up all the 2-doors we can get our hands on, if we ever want to see A BRONCO RAPTOR!
