  1. Another fine trip down memory lane, Chris, thank you. I've built most of 'em, squillions of years ago. Would be nice to pick up one of these again and relive the magic.
  2. Agreed. I've built squillions of 70-73s, and 77-81s, but I'd love love love to build a 74-76.
  3. Ha ha, true, Flexo is the evil evil Bender, but I was actually thinking of the Futurama episode where Bender turns into an evil car, "The Honking". I'm loving this Futurama, I mean, Futura, restyling so much, I wanna get one and see what I can do with it. Great styling job. This one's a winner, regardless of which grille is chosen.
  4. Agreed; both are maliciously wicked. The one with fewer teeth looks like a vampire, and the one with more teeth looks like a double evil Bender.
  5. Nooice, Chris. Your retrospectives are always nostalgic and illuminating, thanks!
  6. Gotta say, Rex, watching you build this is surreal. You're the 71-73 expert, and you've, we've all, been waiting for this kit since forever. Godspeed, good sir.
  7. In doing more research on the classic Mack Bulldog kit, I see Monogram did (at least) 4 versions: log hauler, stake truck, tanker, and dump truck. In researching actual truck pictures, I've seen some looking particularly cool with what appears to be more modern tires and wheels; very tough looking indeed. Never knew much about these kits before HPI Guy's log hauler review; now thanks to you cats, I want one of these more than ever. Thanks!
  8. Agreed, John. Who knows what killer blasts from the past Atlantis now has. Looking forward to getting this Mack, as well as their upcoming Pontiac Grand Am funny car. And in a perfect world, it would be really nice if Atlantis got the tooling for the Monroe Handler Mustang II, as well as Sunbird/Monza variants!
  9. Thank you for the heads up, Mike. Round 2 has been doing some amazing things the past several years, and I couldn't be happier with their efforts. Anything's possible, and here's hoping, indeed! Oh yesssssss, Alan, you always deliver the goods, thank you! Cammer, velocity stacks, traction bars, and more! What's not to love?
  10. Now that Round 2's Chad has announced the 57 T-Bird coming back in their August 2023 video, doesn't look like it has any drag parts. Thought I read here awhile back that the "Here Comes The Judge" drag version was going to be coming back. While I certainly do have enough drag/gasser parts to make a conversion, it would be awesome to get a kit with those extra goodies and that sweet HCTJ box art.
  11. Fantastic models, Randy. Would love to see more of your blue F-150. Looks to me based on the Monogram stepside kit. Did you bash it with a Monogram Bronco to make the bed?
  12. That. Is awesome. I should mock up some packaging art in the vintage style to really tug at those nostalgic feels. Looks like the Cal Drag, Indy Drag, and Chevelle Drag combos all use the same trailer, yes?
  13. Oh no! Another PYRO kit lives up to its name, sets itself and builder on fire, claiming yet another hobbyist! Solid work on this dimensionally-challenged Escher kit, Sid. Quick, someone send Sid a Monogram 1941 Lincoln as a palette cleanser, STAT! We can't let you leave the hobby on one of the most objectively challenging kits ever designed. (built model not mine)
  14. I would very much love for this kit to come back; I'd commented on it in other threads. TL;DR: Looking at HPI Guy's video reviews of the 64 Olds convertible and 442 contents, and cross-referencing them with his videos of the Rat Packer Nova, 64 Falcon, and Cyclone Eliminator AWB kits, it seems most of the parts needed are readily available, aside from an all-new AWB 64 Olds body. Here is a summary of the Streaker parts found in the two new Olds kits. Hope this helps, thanks.
  15. Exquisite colours and beautiful paintwork that are so perfectly suited to this car, @gks1964. This is how I want to build mine.
  16. At first I thought Sweet Bippy and Jolly Green Gasser were the same kit, but turns out they are two different years of Galaxie. The Jolly Green is a 65, and Sweet Bippy is a 66. Stock 65 and 66 Galaxies look quite similar, and to this day, I still often confuse them. The kits have different engines; the Bippy seems to come with a 427 SOHC (as an option?), while the Jolly Green seems to have a standard 427. It seems both are 4-in-1 kits: stock, custom, gasser/drag racer, and NASCAR/Grand National. Jolly Green includes 7 tires (5 stock and 2 drag), though does NOT include wide Grand National racing tires. Bippy includes 10 tires; seems like 4 stock, 2 drag, and an additional 4 for Grand National racing tires? HPI Guy's Jolly Green Gasser: Hope this helps, thanks!
  17. Very interested in this kit; have been ever since it was leaked some 3 years ago. My AMT "Macho Mustang" was OK. My MPC 71 "Boss 351" was meh. Never built the Lindberg/Palmer kit. This Revell kit is gonna smoke 'em all. Surprised only by the non-chromed headlight buckets, but that can be worked around. Super stoked to hear HPI Guy mention there are about 5 planned versions for this. 1) Boss 351 ✓ 2) Bond version ✓ 3) Elanor??? 4) Convertible??? 5) 72-73 versions? Racing version? Grande version? This thing is like Pokemon: I might hafta collect 'em all.
  18. Anyone know how similar/different the chassis are amongst Monogram's 1/24 funny cars? Not seeing any differences between these older kits, the later Oldsmobile-bodied cars (Otter Pops, Sentry, Raybestos, Castrol, McDonalds), or the Mongoose 57 Chevy that Atlantis bought. All 1/24. If the chassis is universal, chances are really good we can eventually see all of these come back to life.
  19. Getting myself back on track, it looks kinda like the cab is a 71 or 72; anyone know what year it is? Also, I wonder if the "Nothing to see here" area above could be an alternative set of rear fenders. The original 3D render shows both rounded rear fenders, and more squared-off ones. Lastly, this kit would look insane awesome with one of Round 2's recent amber flasher bar parts packs!
  20. Wow, never heard of this one before, but looks like it would be nice to build for its own sake. Maybe after I get me this Moebius Ford, I might track one of these down, thanks!
  21. So getting one of these; so happy it is finally available again. One thing I've wondered about the MPC front suspension: is there not supposed to be some sort of shaft between the pumpkin side and the non-pumpkin side? The Monogram F-150 and Bronco kits do include a shaft.
  22. AWWWWW YISSSSSSSSS This is the perfect wrecker I've been wanting all my life! - AMT Peterbilt wrecker: too big - MPC Datsun Scavenger wrecker: too little - MPC Datsun Scavenger Monster Truck wrecker: too monster-y - AMT 1934 Ford wrecker: too vintage - Revell Midnite Cowboy wrecker: too custom - Revell Captain Hook wrecker: too toylike - MPC Cooter's wrecker: too weird - Revell 77 GMC wrecker: very close to what I wanted, BUT NOT A FORD Thank you, Moebius, for making my dreams come true.
  23. I'm not sure how similar the MPC Demon and 75 Dart were, but if this helps... back in 2016, I bought the Round2 75 Dart reissue, along with the Revell 68 Dart. I planned to stuff the 68 chassis up inside the 75, and there was no easy way for it to work. IIRC, the wheelbase was off, the 68 had a much wider track, and a couple other things I've forgotten that just made it really impractical. So I just built the 68, and one of these days, I might get around to the 75. I also built the excellent 71 Duster many years ago, but don't have it anymore to compare to my finished 68 or unstarted 75. Hope this helps.
  24. Nice. I'd be in for any of these, especially the oddball Tempo, as I missed em all the first time around. While I did build the awesome Sentry Olds many years later, would love to go back in time to these earlier bodies. Would be most excellent if they discovered the missing tinwork from the 1/32 funny cars released last year.
  25. For most of us, we pretty much ARE parts packs. Between our new kits, used kits, builtups, gluebombs, rebuilders, abandoned builds, trades, freebies, cheapo flea market finds, incomplete kits, aftermarket, and whatever else exists in our stashes, we've got lots of stuff on hand to build pretty much whatever we want. I have a Revellogram 56 Nomad I want to do as a gasser/street freak, and the base 265 isn't gonna cut it for me. I've got at least 3 sources for a big block Chevy in-house, and if worse comes to worse, I'll drop cash on something just for parts. The possibilities are near endless.
