  1. Right you are, Andy. Awhile back some dudes here listed out the entire series of AWB cars AMT did back in the day. IIRC, one of the rarest was a 58 Edsel done in some sort of "outhouse" junker theme. Would be nice to get all of these back, including some all-new AWB bodies that never existed. For example, what if Round 2 made AWB bodies of their recent 63 Nova wagon, 65 GTO hardtop, or even 63 Ford pickup! They would sell like hotcakes!
  2. STREAKER! Judging by the parts shown on the box bottom, looks like Streaker-specific parts from the Olds 64 convertible and 442 kits have been snipped and added to this Time Machine redux. Seems like only the older "customized" grille/bumper assembly is included. So, if anyone wants to use the corrected/updated grille/bumper, and/or the dual judson blowers, they'll need to get a hold of either the convertible or 442 kit. NICE red glass option. Sweet pad-printed tires. Dis gon b gud! Thank you Round2!
  3. I appreciate everything you dudes are saying about HPI Guy, and I just realized another thing; he's pretty constant and reliable. He builds about 90%+ of what he gets, so whenever a Round 2, Moebius, Salvinos, or Revellogram kit gets announced, chances are quite good he's going to review/build it, and be the first to do so. Especially for those kits I can't wait for, kits I've never seen, and kits I haven't seen in decades, it truly is a pleasure to behold. And as far as some OTHER model car YouTubers go, some come late to the party, some are super niche, some do super rough builds, some post once a year, some never finish anything, and some spend a lotta time hocking their wares. I love 'em all, and HPI and Glen's Models/Model Cars with Glen are my fave of faves: https://www.youtube.com/@glensmodels/videos. Glen's ideas are insane in the membrane and off the chain! Check him out; you will be inspired! Back on topic, I'm McLovin this 68 F250. As eager as I am to get my hands on the upcoming 72 wrecker, I'm now seriously considering making it a 68!
  4. I'd be all over this one for sure. I've built nearly all the Galaxies, so this, and a companion 68, in time for Christmas 2025, would be most welcome additions beneath my tree.
  5. Right you are, Trevor! That is the exact one I ended up with too. Was about to start it when news came of the classique MPC soon to be back in the saddle again. While the AMT is nice, nostalgia is calling me to do a better job on the sssssslasher I butchered back in the day!
  6. Oh me oh my. This. 128%. I'm not too familiar with Tamiya sprays, but I'm kind of forced to use them now cuz no more Testors, Krylon short cuts, or any of the other stuff I was using 25 years ago. Earlier this year, I DESTROYED my Tamiya R34 VSpec with Tamiya TS-13 clear. Short story long: Tamiya light grey fine surface primer. Followed by a couple coats of Tamiya TS-92 Metallic Orange. Followed by a couple coats of Tamiya TS-13 clear (admittedly too heavy), and wow, it liquified the orange underneath, lifted it, melted it, and everything drooped and sagged. I was under the impression Tamiya sprays were acrylic. I've since been told that Tamiya clear is too hot, and at least one other person told me Tamiya sprays are full on lacquers. So then, I need to find a clear that is gentle. I'm open to any suggestions you cats may have on clear sprays that work nicely on Tamiya TS paints! I have a Black Beauty in TS-42 Light Gun Metal, and I want to give it a nice buffed clearcoat! In the meantime, thanks for your thorough explanation, Michael!
  7. You are in luck, Bob, as this very topic recently came up with a nice article by Chris (Fabrux). As the classic MPC ssssssslasher is about to come out again, for the first time in a squillion years, now is a good time for us to brush up on what's been going on with these kits!
  8. I deeply appreciate HPI Guy for what he does best: being one of the first to get 'em, and build 'em, FAST! He cranks out most of these kits in 2 days each, and most of us have probably built most of these kits decades ago. It's always nice to see new decals, parts, tires, bonuses, etc., and compare against the versions in our stashes. Most importantly, I constantly refer to his videos for technical information. For example, I've watched his Jolly Green Gasser 65 Galaxie video a squillion times, and recently went through it yet again with greater scrutiny than ever before, after I got my hands on the 90s version (brown car on a grey box). I realized that 90s version had a bunch of parts blocked out of it, so the Jolly Green is the version to get for more build options (if the green plastic is not a deal breaker). Example #2: I recently compared his Strickler AWB Coronet to the Golden Commandos AWB from a couple years ago to see what was new/different. Example #3: I went through his 64 Olds convertible and 442 hardtop videos with a fine-tooth comb to discern what parts were included for a future Streaker AWB version. Lastly, thanks to HPI Guy, I've become interested in DOZENS of kits I normally would not have been interested in, such as the Gremlin modified, 77 Celica 1/20, Ala Kart, 63 Gurney Lotus, and more more more! He is draining my wallet, jeopardizing my mortgage, and I could not be happier about it! Let's raise a glass to the fastest car modeller on the internet!
  9. Apologies for the necropost; finally placed my order for the wrecker from my LHS, and I'm planning on getting a snowplow parts pack from the 1970 snowplow kit here: https://pegasushobbies.wpcomstaging.com/product/snow-plow/ Much thanks to Erik Solie in the "Moebius Dually rears & other bitz now available" thread for the above link to the snowplow. And mega thanks to Brian (Radretireddad) who started this party by suggesting swapping out the wrecker's push bar for a snowplow! There's gonna be a lot of snowplow wreckers on the contest tables in 2025, thanks to you guys! Dis gon b gud!
  10. You're doing the Lord's work, James! Thank you for your coverage, and imma hafta remortgage the house to afford all of Round 2's insane offerings! They just don't stop won't stop can't stop, and neither will we!
  11. Bonus points for the red glass on the Streaker! And I'll have to grab the ssssssssslasher and widebody, too!
  12. Right you are, James. Back when they made squillions of a kit, one could wait decades to get one. Nowadays, most kits are spoken for before they even hit the shelves. When I see that Moebius wrecker, Imma peel a cap ta gits mine.
  13. Awesome; will keep that in mind, thanks!
  14. I picked up my Atlantis Grand Am at the Toronto Torcan model contest, 3 weeks ago. Paid cash, no receipt. Haven't yet started it, though I do wonder, there must be a way to rework things a bit to make it fit nicely. Can't imagine it being that much different than the Vega. HPI Guy got his tin work in there, mentioned it doesn't quite reach the cowl, IIRC, and I did notice he did NOT show any photos of the body closed down. Will report back once I get started on it!
  15. Sadly, I think this is fake. As is customary with a lot of AI art, the rendering of text is pretty rough, at best. Check the badging, and look at the Ford logo on the steering wheel. I'm also seeing PIINTO, and PINTTO in that video, on what look like Fiestas, so prolly fake. Me personally, I'd like for this to be real, so let's hope Ford makes it happen!
  16. I am soooooo happy this kit is coming out; thank you Round2! I do wonder whether this kit will include the new chrome tree with the improved stock front clip. While it will be cool to build this with the older, smoothed-out headlight/eggcrate bumper clip, it would be even better if we could build it with the improved front clip! Failing that, I might just build mine with the custom grille and taillight treatments! (screencaps courtesy of HPI Guy's 442 Hardtop vid)
  17. Agreed 128%; you're inspiring me to try something similar. Now I just gotta look through the stash and find a couple fresh victims, heh.
  18. Wow, Mike, this is even more hardcore than I'd realized! Such precision and meticulous attention to detail. Can't wait to see this make progress, and I might even be first in line to snatch up one of your resin copies. I too love 70s land yachts. Ahoy, mateys!
  19. Nice build, Racine, a very rare subject that we seldom see built. One as lovingly crafted as yours shows a fine appreciation of, and respect for, the original cars. I butchered this kit as a kid, and I was very fortunate to have found another awhile back. This time, a little less appreciation and respect, and a little more mild tuner!
  20. Fantastic rebuilds, Dennis! I picked up this exact kit this weekend, and now, thanks to you, I MUST build the tandem rail in yellow with black and miles of chrome. And your Fiat matches its intensity. Copying you would be a crime, so I'll have to put my own spin on these beauties. Particularly loving your downturned headers; very clever, and looks devastatingly more menacing. Thank you for your insane inspiration!
  21. You might be right, Andy. I do believe I held the box in my hand at my LHS a few years back. Pretty sure I saw an illustration of a stock Monza on the side. Found this pic just now of what I think is the box bottom. Looks like custom and stock wheels, multiple fascias, etc. are included. Hope this helps, thanks!
  22. Right you are, Robert! It truly is crude and rough, for sure. Me personally, I'd love to take a crack at it again, warts and all, as I'd butchered one back in the day. Maybe I'd try to marry the Capri-specific elements to an MPC Mustang body, blister the fenders, play around, and see what I can come up with. I'm curious, anyone know of any aftermarket solutions for converting either the MPC or Monogram Fox bodies?
  23. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it, Dean! A lotta dudes here are bursting with design and engineering concepts that rival the best of what the global auto makers have to offer! And wow, you're right about the GT. Very nice. I'm no expert on McLarens, though I can see considerable DNA shared between the GT and Senna. We Corvette aficionados will restyle the C8 to respect its past, while pushing it into the future. It will appeal to little boys, and big boys, alike, heh.
  24. You are a demigod, Brian! I should've gone back to the thread to cite you by name. In the coming months, there's gonna be a whole lotta Moebius snowplow wreckers on the contest tables, and we'll all have you to thank!
