Removing polish compound from the crevices
Funkychiken replied to Funkychiken's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Thanks all for your comments, I use Nouvos 3 compound. I used to use Tamiya, but the tubes dry up on me. I'll try the tamiya cotton bud method! -
Polishing compound dries really hard, and fills the crevices I have historically used tooth-picks (sharpened) and a tooth brush. I've tried soaking in warm, soapy water & use a paint brush - but it does not work. EVERY TIME I end up scratching the polished surface - which was the reason for polishing in the first place... it can be an endless cycle.. so what do you guys do? thanks for tips...!

Engine, Chassis & interior are on their way... Other than spraying the body-shell, the worst part of this hobby is flocking. It never goes to plan... this is 2 coats of Hiroboy cream using Humbrol clear enamel as an adhesive. This is an old Tamiya kit, so it's not the best in terms of detail, however, it goes together really well, no real flash & ony minor sink hole defects to worry about....

It has been clear coated with Zero 2K the bootlid & spoiler came out perfectly! however, the body was riddled with pitting & dust. it also suffered from ripples. so, it's going to get polished! that will be happening ths weekend....

Saw this on a business trip to Germany a few weeks ago, had a loud exhaust note - anyone know what it is? -

And here's 3 for after. Unfortunately it's really delicate, so it's burned through in a few spots & it keeps chipping off. I'm going to have to find a way of cleaning out the polish residue from the panel lines, then clearcoat with 2K Zero... wish me luck
