  1. Nice touch with the SC Florinopolis license plate! Don't forget the little wire that permanently attaches the plate to the car. Very nice work on this Ford. Great details.
  2. I am guessing this Roadrunner body has been a Roadrunner or GTX hardtop / convertible, '68 / '69 off and on for the last 20 years; so the scripts keep changing or missing. I was disappointed to get a '69 GTX convertible with a '68 Roadrunner grille recently. So, I can see how things can be confused. Hopefully, they put the little round side marker lights on the side of the '68 Roadrunner.
  3. I would imagine somebody like Missing Link would cast clear red tail lights that could replace the chrome tail lights in this kit. Then everybody would be happy and no complaints.
  4. I have that kit too. Now I want to build it.
  5. I don't understand why people bash the Polar Lights '65 Dodge. That kits looks great.
  6. The 1971 Mustang is great.
  7. Carlos, the cars are very nice. I am thinking about building the Charger.
  8. There is a nail head Buick in the AMT 1940 Ford coupe.
  9. I have not found any place/site that sells this Mercury Maurader resin kit.
  10. Trumpeter kits are a mixed bag. I have a 1963 Chevy II convertible with nice detail. Unfortunately the winshield is way too tall and looks goofy.
  11. Great box art, but............ I collect some of the Palmers too. To be fair, the Lindbergs are more precise.
  12. Dave The chrome on the side of the AMT '69 SS396 is not correct. It needs to go and chrome on the wheel lip molding needs to be put in place. Of course, all this has to be done before painting. Other than that and Marc's comments, it is a pretty decent kit.
  13. Looks great. Did you use white glue to hold the headlights. They are very clear.
  14. Considering it's a 46 year old kit, it's pretty nice. And it's the only '67 GTO game in town. You did a great job.
  15. Good old AMT kit # T408 I bought 3 or 4 of them in the early 70s and have 5 in my basement right now. It's the 3rd issue of the kit since '64 (previous issue 1969 same as original but working lights removed) and first issue with no chassis screws and all the custom parts removed. Thankfully AMT made it into a "Street Rods" and not a modified stocker like they did with the '64 Galaxie and '66 Impala. The reversed wheels with moon caps premiered in this kit. Back in 1971 I went back to the local 5&10 to buy the 1969 issue of the '64 Impala, but it was gone. They tried to get another but no dice, of course. When T408 arrived in 1972 I was glad to see it again. Even cut another up to make a convertible. The early printing of this kit shows a box end with T408-225 which means $2.25. After the oil embargo of 1973, the 225 price was printed over in black ink or finally removed. The box art of this kit is great. About 1974 or 1975 T408 disappeared. But the '64 Impala reappeared as #2203 in 1977 in the Countdown series. This time, most of the custom parts came back. Forever missing are the chassis screws and working lights. Nick your '64 really is a nice job.
  16. I think the Rat Packer would work since the AMT 60s funny cars were sort of one size fits all chassis design. Seems like they only changed the engines.
  17. I think the point is; if you want a 1970 charger, the Missing Link option is very good and most will build an RT which covers the Revell scallops, I think. The comment about the Revell Charger scallops is accurate. They are too heavy. But, it is, what it is. Chasing down MPC originals is expensive and probably not that important in the big picture. Can you sand or polish down the Revell scallops to reduce their bold appearance?
  18. That TBird body looks pretty nice. I have the '66 Impala (really a '65} and the '66 Deville. Same way, great bodies, short on interior chassis details.
  19. MPCs and Johan will always be worth more only because they are collectible. And, people like old box art. Don't think Revell made a mistake. They will sell a whole bunch. I am guessing people will buy the Revell just to update a MPC or Johan '71-74 and make it a more accurate kit. Not a bad idea combining the Round2 '74 with a Revell.
  20. When I read your post about the Wildcat, it reminds me about myself. I have bought many built ups and found the glass is hopelessly melted to the roof. Except for the stuck glass, the body itself is very nice. Worth fixing. I have had 0% success freezing the plastic. Xactos, small screw drivers and the Dremel are only ones that work for me. Shipping tape should pull those bad boy decals off. I hate to tell you that nothing short of a Dremel will solve you glass problem. Make sure you run the Dremel on a slow speed as fast rpms will melt the plastic and even gum up the grinding wheel. Work slow and at different angles. If it slips, you may lose details. Fortunately for you, all the grinding will be in the center where repairs will be easy. Good luck The others are correct, I believe. The 64 Impala should give you the glass. Same roof but maybe you will need the shorten lengthen the glass runner under the roof.
  21. If you can locate a 1967 Auto World catalog or Car Model magazine, you will see mention of a $2.00 1958 Edsel kit. No mention of any funny car. When it arrived in the goofy box, it showed $1.50. After I bought it, I looked at it and tossed it in the trash.
  22. Outragis, make sure you cut cown the windshield on the Trumpeter '63 Chevy II convertible with a razor saw. The Hardtop is fine, but the vert is way too tall. I used an original AMT kit as a guide. If you look at the side of the Trumpeter box, it shows the correct height. I don't know why the kit is wrong seeing as they had good information. Other than that, the kit looks pretty good.
  23. These kits were $3.00 when the usual price was $2.00 in 1967-69. If you consider the minimum wage was $1.85 in 1971, they are pretty expensive.
  24. I built this Cobra in the 90s. Bought it in 1976, took a few years to finish. It's the MPC. I believe the missing link parts work on an AMT.
