    I think this is a Custom not a Custom 500. No big deal, just no wheel opening trim.

    Yes and no. AMT had help from Chevy to the body correct but lacked chassis and other details.

    They didn't catch all the defect kits. I bought a defective rounded windshield one and chucked it in the trash.

    I am amazed. I never knew they used a NASCAR Impala in 1970-71. Were there any Galaxies?

    I made a sportsroof using the buick roof on the amt impala, but next time ,I will use the same resin body that you used.

    Paul, when is the kit going to be released? Like the Mustang II, size reduction saved the model line and sold very well.

    The new body is too narrow. The original 1972 body is long gone.

    This AMT Chevelle convertible has useless interior tub locating pins on the body which causes the frame wheelbase to be in the incorrect position. I ground them off as the 1977 issue kit was different.

    The expense may not justify the aquisition.

    The 1969 annual Elcamino is primitive compared to ERTL effort. It has no window frame and exhibits a hardtop frameless door window. It has the correct backup light on the tailgate. Consider using a different year chevelle front on the current elcamino. The widths are not the same and require some fitting effort.

    I don't see politics here.Just observations about where things are headed. Despite who is the blame , it is a real problem. Even common generic medicine may be delayed. If I die, then no new kits is one problem that I don't have to worry about!
