  1. I had the Pyro version in blue
  2. It is too bad ERTL AMT didn't use the 64 engine chassis for the later 63 as re-designed parts are dreadful. I have thought that AMT freshened up the 63 Craftsman man in the mid to late 70s, maybe to do a Countdown kit? Then ERTL issued it in 1987.
  3. The 1971 roadrunner reappeared in 1988, missing the dated bumpers and body chassis post locators. 1972 never returned. My guess is that the Roadrunner and 70/72 GTO had several tool body inserts. If you inspect them closely, they are similar but different. More obvious is Daisy's Roadrunner is a 1973 not 71 or 72. but it has common parts . Ever notice that the MPC 1967 GTO sometimes comes with a 1970 nose. Always has the same engine and chassis. ERTL may have lost the inserts. for different years.
  4. Won't be road legal as I doubt it would meet safety and environmental requirements.
  5. I think the demographics are guaranteeing that some models will never return. Young kids don't care. I remember waiting for the new cars to arrive. that doesn't happen any more. If you could combine a model kit with and electronic or computer toy?
  6. nobody can make those tail lights work! what is the deal?
  7. I was surprised that it had a 6 and not a V8.
  8. I hear a lot of complaints about this kit. Bottom line; If you can whittle a better one, don't but the Round 2 kit. The side trim is easily fixed. Missing Link has the original style tailights so you can fix the rear end.
  9. The 69 JoHan Roadrunner is a good basis for a 1968. I try to find them when I can too. $2 is a distant memory.
  10. I bought my 1977 TBird in Atlanta , GA. Brought it back to New England with 200,000 miles. It had the 400 cid engine, white with maroon vinyl roof.
  11. What sold the Prestige 1963 Impala was that old unbuilt kits went for $200 so in effect $10+ was a bargain! I was better than the Craftsman(open hood ,custom parts ect). I was crazy about getting a kit back then. The collector kit prices crashed.
  12. I paid $14 for this kit in 1987 and have the store sticker to prove it. At best, this kit and later reissues used a combination of the Craftsman kit and annual kit. AMT revised the tool in the 70s to eliminate the firewall and tail lights. Hood clip was gone and the chassis used a funky 2 size axles. There must have been 2 tools, a promo and a annual kit, and ERTL mashed them together . The AMT 1964 Impala can fix the 1963 engine department.
  13. MAybe somebody can cast the 1971-1973 MPC Cougar exhaust?

  15. You know it went into the alley on it's right side and exited on it's left side as shown. Nobody seems to notice and they never re-shot the scene!
  16. This is a good request. Anybody who has seen Diamonds are Forever Mustang trick driving, will notice these mufflers and not the glass packs that come in the kits. The MPC Cougar kit has the better mufflers. too much money for a kit just to get mufflers.
  17. plastic was polished for the non painter
  18. This kit reminds me how much that I miss ERTL.
  19. I bought a 1968 El Camino kit in RED. The plastic seemed rubbery and soft. Anybody else notice that?
  20. The original annual AMT Corvette had these size headlights until 1967 when AMT revised the kit as a Trophy series kit
  21. my kit from the 70s had opening doors. Does this one?
  22. Pegusus in California has a lowrider customer base. I would be susprised if they didnt do a 68-69 impala?
  23. Incredible work Paul. Hope to live long enough to get one from you!
  24. Very nice work Paul. I had a 1972 Gran Torino Sport and a 1977 T Bird with a 400. The T Bird was loaded.
  25. This could have been converted to the 935 K3 winner at 1979 LeMans
