  1. The interior does look like 61 ford Frame is a Buick, up to 64
  2. I knew there was a 1/32 Revell Continental. I guess there never was a 1/25 as implied on the side of the Eldorado box.
  3. According to this Revell box, they made a Pontiac Club de Mer, Lincoln Futura and a Continental. Anybody ever see the Continental? I never have.
  4. I doubt the Emporium lists their stock. It's a relatively big store with a wall of car models about 40 feet long. And they have a lot of paint and other building parts too. These guys are not a distributer. and as such their stock is one or two each of everything currently offered. Though I have found some older stock, it is not the hot items. For them to post on line their stock, they would have to have in depth, meaning cases of one particular model. They don't, but they have hundreds of car models in stock. Spare Time Shop in Marlborough, MA is the same. They order one or two of each kit (maybe more if it is really hot) and replace as needed from places like Stevens International for example. If you go to Stevens International online, and it's listed in stock, these stores can get it.
  5. I believe Revell had to use the Monogram label every so often to keep the right, Once in a while I go to the EXXON or MOBIL station and I see they are selling ESSO products.
  6. For what it is worth, The Monogram kits were pretty sophisticated for early '60s kits. I think they caused AMT to up the ante and create the Trophy kits with more features.
  7. Hobby Emporium in Tyngsboro, MA /Nashua, NH.
  8. Daniel, I think the answer is halfway. The removed the Bonneville, but it doesn't say Pontiac and they kept the long Bonneville tail lights. The bumper is wrong as you say.
  9. You can see here how much that must be cut. The 2+2 is a Catalina.
  10. Looks like Johan/ AMT NASCAR. I see the fuel cap on the side which is not stock.
  11. The only good thing about this kit is the 2+2 emblems and the seat patterns. If you are careful, you can shorten it; frame and body. The AMT '65 Grand Prix has the correct length body, but the roof is wrong, unless a convertible is your goal.
  12. I am replying to this tread because the quote "the chances of a new mold of 50s station wagon are about 100,000 to 1" Jairus, you just won the lottery. The Del Rio is here!
  13. I thought what he was referring to was the pin/engine frame mounts of the AMT kits. All the AMT Trophy '32 Fords, (I think '36), and the '40 Fords had common pin locations on the frames that meant swapping kit motors was an easy task. Pin location motors; Hemi Olds Buick Small block Chevy Pontiac TBird Ford
  14. I think the MCW '63 is a copy of the AMT kit. The MCW '62 is one they made up as AMT didn't do a wagon in '62. The 400 is a Nova level trim and the 100 is the base trim. Is the MCW '62 Nova wagon a 2 door?
  15. Since it is a $15000 show car, I updated vehicle
  16. They ran out of Del Rios because I bought 5. Seriously, it's a home run. It has some many possibilities from the modeler's point of view. I would not be surprised if a Country Squire version is down the road. Dump the old Squires now!
  17. It's true, you really cleaned up a somewhat clunky casting. They are pretty rugged though. I always say, equate your time to money. Did this casting save you a lot of time engineering it by yourself?
  18. It's going to be hard to find an un-built kit of this original Ford 40 pickup to see the parts trees. They almost never show up built up on eBay or at model shows, never mind un-built.
  19. I really can't find a '57 Ford wagon without bumper guards. This one looks like somebody removed them.
  20. I place the PE parts on the painted surface where I dabbed some clear nail polish. Then I clearcoat the model with PE in place.
  21. The multi piece bodies are easier to modify. With liquid plastic cement, easy to assemble.
  22. Charlie, I picked 2 up on ebay, because I never seem to catch those kits when they arrive at ST Marlborough. Tom, PE scripts cost $22.99 plus ship, which is more than I paid for the Revell kit. MCG etch scripts seems to have all the scripts to replace the decals. Half the decal sheet in the Del Rio kit are police related. I forgot to mention that the rear lift gate is molded solid to the back of the Del Rio. Having said that, it is not a separate piece you can add to a Squire kit missing the lift gate. Also, the shape is rounded, and it will be some work separating it to open it and make it working. I was hoping it was separate like the hood.
  23. I just got the Del Rio, so I can make a comment about the final product. I looked at the box, and it said MONOGRAM. Maybe because they have to keep using the name for trademark. Kind of like EXXON uses ESSO every so often. It said Ranch Wagon on the box. I thought it was a Del Rio. Apparently, this kit is the upper trim option of the Ranch Wagon. So, if you don't like upper trim, scrape it off and use 0.020" half round Evergreen and make the lower trim package. It looks like the whole blower package comes with this engine. Alas, there is nothing in the instructions to indicate it's there, or how to build. Like Fonzi from Happy Days, it's hard for me to say I'm wronnnnnnnnnnnnng. It's not going to be a slam dunk to make a Ranchero. The roof door combo is a plus, but the bed interior is a station wagon. Going to take some effort here. I think it will be about the same to add 2 doors to make the Country Sedan, maybe easier. Emblems? What emblems? Everything is decals . I'm not that crazy about that. Better build before the decals get old and curl up. I think they look one dimensional, as they are. Dead on, okay. 3/4 shot photo NG. The box is hefty. There is a lot of stuff in it. Tons and tons of parts. More than the good old days. Tires are boring and come with decal white walls. Round2 has grabbed to ball on this one. Maybe its a price thing. I use latex or acrylic and paint my own whitewalls. The white FORD circle inserts on the hubcaps are great. Kudos there. All in all, it's a great kit. Well worth the $20+ for it. I bought 4.
  24. I agree with your 2 points, but I would reverse them.
  25. You can look up their yearly sales. That will tell you something.
