  2. Who designed the kit, AMT or MPC?
  3. The A/C under dash unit you are showing is a dealer add on unit, not from the factory. Most of the large GM cars from '58 and later had outlets in the dash. Some of the model cars have the dashes with A/C outlets.
  4. I guess that I have to build a later release of the AMT 57 Ford. I wasn't aware of the updates.
  5. Slider51, you might have liked the original MPC annual kit of the '72 Chevelle better. Your's is the early '80s issue after it was a Jim Hurtubise NASCAR racer. A lot of the details were restored, though not that well. I always thought the MPC body was a bit more accurate than the AMT. You can fix the AMT but the MPC was easier. I have the MPC kit you have. Someday, when I get a chance, I will build it.

  7. In the late '60s early '70s, the AMT 57 Ford lost the Styline custom parts. I'm not sure anybody really cares about that stuff anymore. I can't remember if the chrome suspension parts are gone too? Comparing the AMT versus the Revell isn't a fair comparison. It depends on what car you want to build. The AMT Ford Fairlane is a bigger car compared to the Revell Ford Custom. You can't kitbash a Revell 57 Ford into a convertible, or kitbash an AMT 57 Ford into a wagon or Ranchero.......easily anyway.

  11. That Definitely Uncertain-T is just too funny. But you have to replace those 2 old birds with better looking younger birds.
  12. Here is what I see...... Back in the '60s, the 3 in 1 kits were sold in the millions. Today 1 version kits are sold in the thousands. It may not be economically feasible to relive the old days.
  13. The re-pop of the '61 notchback is from the annual '61 Galaxie Styline kit. It never had an opening hood, just a lot of customizing parts in a flat box. Non dated bumpers too. The Starliner (you have) and the Sunliner are gone for good, I think. The Sunliner reappeared in 1967 as a Trophy Series kit. It included a rubber band for the hood too. AMT adopted the hood clip from SMP after the 2 companies became one. My Starliner kit says Sunliner too. Ti's funny because the Starliner promo says Starliner on the fender.
  14. Tim , it is great you can post photos of a new kit and let everybody see what's in it. In the old days we had to buy, break it open, and see what's in the box.
  15. It's interesting that Monogram scrapped the Uncertain-T, but kept the Garbage Truck.
  16. I think this tool is relatively new. There was a '34 Ford 3 window issued by AMT in 1975, but it was so bad, that it disappeared.
  17. You have to friend him at Steve Scott or Uncertain-T Updates on Facebook. Once you do, you can read what he posts.
  18. Howard, that is an interesting theory as to whether he built the original car.
  19. Some of the Monogram 1/24 items were pretty good, for the '60s era; 1940 Ford pickup 1955 BelAir 1940 Continental 1958 TBird I think if they were 1/25, they would sell better now.
  20. I am a spectator and betting nothing. But, effective midnight last night, the price of the kit went to $50.
