  1. Nice detailing. The wire wheels from that kit?
  2. Ludwig, very nice job detailing.
  3. That Super Cat MPC '69 Cougar is sort of an annual issue and was molded in red. I had a couple once, and I remember the same stock wheel covers as was put in the '70-73 Cougar kits. The last issue of the '73 version had a convertible boot from the '70. The tool was updated 4 times after the Super Cat, at least. I was not impressed with the MPC Cougars as they didn't fit well. The front ends were jacked up and low in the back. The AMT Cougar went together much better. This new Round2 '69 Cougar will not have an original box exactly. It's been tweaked to show an Eliminator instead of a XR7.
  4. You did a great job on the hood. I forgot to ask where the Cyclone scripts came from. Looks like a decal?
  5. This Cyclone kit in the Model King issue, had stock wheels,
  6. The grime effect is great
  7. I just got a Modelking NASCAR kit and the hood was smooth.
  8. The current AMT '69 Cougar is somewhat of a Frankenstein. Round2 may reproduce the original box, but the contents will not be the same as '69 annual. The hood scoop shown was pulled from the MPC '69-73 Cougar kits or made from scratch by ERTL. I am pretty sure the original 390 engine is missing, but you never know. I have serious doubts that Round2 will restore the emblems, but again, maybe we will be surprised?
  9. The original AMT 69 Cougar had 390 emblems and theoretically the same kit engine. It was there through to the Matchbox/ERTL Street Machine issues.
  10. The ERTL/AMT/MPC kit you refer to is based on the last MPC version, the 1973. They called it a 1971 to do a BOSS 351. It has the big '73 bumper and an incorrect grille. It does have the stock interior and chassis.
  11. There seems to be controversy about how the AMT '69 Cougar was modified by ERTL in the early '90s. The original engine was changed?
  12. The '62-63 and '65 Novas, and '64-65 Mustangs had the small tire. Is the Ohio George tire a copy , or original AMT compact tire?
  13. Whether they scale out exactly to 13", I don't know. I do know that tire was used for the AMT Nova, Corvair, Valiant, Mustang and Pinto. Maybe others too.
  14. Oldscool, those are the old compact Goodyear tires. Just needs a thin whitewall. So, they still have the tire.
  15. I sanded the weird bulges on the AMT Chevelle, Model Car Garage can replace the SS logos. I always thought the 1971-1972 MPC Chevelle had the best Chevelle body. You could make it into a 70.
  16. Post a pic of the Ranchero tires? I don't understand where the original AMT compact tires went.
  17. I thought about making one of these for a Tommy Boy GTX.
  18. I think the old MPC, AMT and Johan kits got the shapes correct. Some might argue that they are les detailed. If you detail them well, they look as good as the new kits.
  19. Looks like Jim Rockford in 1/24 scale next to the GTX?
  20. Only good on flat or near flat surfaces
  21. My comment; The turbo is missing ( was between the steering wheel and the instrument box) on the chrome tree. The tires for stock look like they came from a lawn tractor. First disappointing set of tires on the Round2 offerings. The box is nice, got a vert boot and it's nice to see another run of the Corvairs.
  22. The only thing that I dislike about this kit is that they made it impossible to build a stock 71-73 Mustang. Permanent Tope Racer as were all the recent issues.
  23. Dave, I am really impressed with this Plymouth. I think the detail is better the way you have the tail light. Proper application of red paint will make it look great. So, this is coming soon to the store?
  24. It appears that you will need Camaro type seats to do a '69 Corvair. I think the seats in the kit represent a pre'67 Corvair.
  25. I just got the '69 Corvair today. I could tell by the bottom of the box; turbo kit is missing (last seen in the 1967 version). The box is very nice. Except for included convertible boot, this kit is the same as all the issues from 1968 annual until now with side marker lights.
