  1. Close, but looking for a single source with all the correct components, air cleaner without snorkels, ram horn manifolds, etc. the block of these is the same as above post with plain details, and molded in starter + filter
  2. This is the only other close resin set I've found online, but really very simple, and lacking detail
  3. This is the best photo online I've found of the AMT 'vette LT-1 engine so far, doesn't show specifically the exhaust manifolds though Air cleaner is better, and valve covers look even better, but the distributor location has that splash shield part, though I can work around that
  4. The Nova SS kit engine looks pretty good, valve covers look right, except the air cleaner, which has the twin snorkels, I'd otherwise like to preserve the chrome intact The engine block has some detailing with separate starter and oil filter, which is nice

If it correct, or same engine as the Nova? I don't want to buy multiple kits, to piece together a single engine & trading parts away is a pain, and that's why a single engine with all the correct items (as the one in photo) if not available in a single kit, but available in resin complete, makes sense to get instead
  6. Masking tape for under hood liners too, on more modern cars they are smoother surface, and often have a 3D layer to them, which cut layers of tape applied over one another can recreate It finishes well with a coat of flat paint applied to the tape surface

  8. Hi Carl, I'm sorry to hear that! I don't know an immediate answer, the commonly used BMF is pretty fragile, and tedious to cut well at the best of times Is masking out the trim and spraying with something like duplicolor chrome an option? For masking this, I like to use the thin Tamiya tape first for curves, then use the wider tape (+ masking paper/plastic) over lapping on to the thin tape (it doesn't have to be precise, as the thin tape defines the painted edge) From there, a few light coats misted on should suffice I'd certainly be willing to pre-cut a bunch of BMF for you. if that'd help?

  14. okay, then I would say PE is better choice, 3D printing allows a lot in design, but the printing involves much greater cost when searching out resolution that fine, we are still trying out places & not found 100% solution, with reasonable cost (printing + shipping) and reliability of vendor for tools, the PE also, for scale of wrenches and hand tools is better, but power tools or bulkier items can't be reproduced in PE with flat stock personally, the best compromise would be flat stock styrene for the truck unit, possible to recast in a few pieces, with rivet or other details, then PE for doors, so can be thin and articulated if desired, PE for some tools (flat like wrenches) and cast resin for other assorted tools for small size & smooth finish
  15. Chuck, what are you trying to get in result, opening doors, or just the box as a single unit, with door handle and external hinge details visible?

I've seen the packs, they have multi piece blocks, some nice details, but not the correct valve covers, nor same exhaust manifolds needed I was hoping the brain trust here could point to a single kit with this correct engine, valve covers and manifolds, so I don't have to search out & buy different kits for parts? Most basic kits have the generic SBC blocks, which lack the detail sought The specific year I suppose would be 1969, LT1 SBC
  17. Used dryer sheets make good simulation of fiberglass chopped mat surface, when glued flat to an inner surface, like under side of fenders or hoods

  19. Very nice build Jurgen, another beautiful build!! I know that kit very well, as currently reworking that and NART version, including for short nose version, I love all those period Ferrari!

Dan, the SN95 was in fact an evolution of the fox chassis, and parts exchange between them, the front suspension swap into older foxes a popular one, the Mustang dept was on a tight budget to develop a "new" car, and platform for the not yet ready new SOHC V8s

No major reason Jeff, just easier for me to source the engine only, and not have to get an entire kit, which I won't likely be using the rest of ...I'm very lean in that regard, and not having much unused plastic The most important for me, is accuracy & block/head/manifolds detail, of this specific engine, which looks to me basically an early 'vette engine (not sure year specifically?)

I'm searching for the best detailed early SBC resin engine I can find I have a few kit ones, but all are basically similar & lack detail I also have the Accurate Miniatures M8 kit, it's nice block detail, but is dry sump and inclusive timing chain cover The valve covers I need are the finned non-script style (Corvette?) The gang here has far better knowledge of what's out there, then in my own hours spent looking thus far This is photo of the exact engine I'm searching out parts for, including the intake, headers, valve covers, etc. Thanks
