This is a car I built in 1965 when I was a youngster. I thought it was a great looking car with the large cartoon. I had read an article in the old Rod & Custom Models magazine about doing your own lettering with a brush so I had lettered a few models before this one. At that time if you wanted to replicate a current race car that was your only option as aftermarket decals wouldn't come around for decades. This was a craftsman kit, requiring cutting open the hood, adding an engine, rear end and height adjustment. The model survived in pretty good shape, requiring some minor repairs and part replacements. Also a good cleaning. So here it is with all the modeling technology from 1965.

  10. Nice build, a lot of nice detailing on your part, engine is exceptional, the Fireball carbs can't be beat for their realistic detail.
  11. Very nice, it's an accomplishment to finish something that didn't get done on the first attempt. Congratulations, I liked how you used some resin and aftermarket pieces to make a unique model. The paint & decals finish it off nicely.
  12. Nice story, at least you have the pictures to remember the model. I thought it was an interesting looking build and you should be proud of those injectors.
  13. Really nice model, the driver adds to it. A lot of nice details. Good looking !
  14. Nicely done. The completed car looks great. It's a nice feeling to complete a project that has been sitting around for years. It's an inspiration to finish some of those lingering projects that we all have sitting in boxes.
  15. To repeat. beautiful build !
  16. Probably the nicest build of this model I have seen. Excellent build.

  20. Nice post, lot of nostalgia in the kits. As you stated, lots of period correct drag racing parts to build off of. Norm is a great guy so is his company, Norn, thanks for taking the time to present this. The castings are very nice and duplicate the actual parts quite well. Nice work from Revell's pattern department from the last century.
  21. Looks like an interesting build, wish the photos were better.
  22. This is a really nice model. Excellent BMF !
