  1. Magnificent work, Paul! Even if by some unimaginable twist of fate Revell makes one, I bet it won't look nearly as good!
  2. I'm kind of at the point where I just may pass on this one due to (1) a backlog of projects and (2) I'd still have to get a '57 promo for the wheelcovers and bumpers. Paging Paul Hettick, if you'd like to tackle this...
  3. Still there -Try this: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_ftrt=901&_fsradio=%26LH_SpecificSeller%3D1&_sop=10&_sadis=15&_byseller=1&_stpos=60062-7542&_odkw=&_saslop=1&_fss=1&_dmd=1&_sofindtype=0&_sasl=vintagemodelcarparts&_osacat=0&_ftrv=1&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR12.TRC2.A0.H0.Xmalibu.TRS0&_nkw=malibu&_sacat=0
  4. Got a nearly-complete NOS '62 Fairlane V8 today: That'll replace the glue blob in mine; it was also missing the fan and belt and had the wrong valve covers. The air cleaner was the only thing that was OK, now I just have to carve the rest of the old engine out from under it .
  5. (Your PM box is full) Hi Richard, Just spotted this on eBay - vintagemodelcarparts is parting out a complete '65 Craftsman Chevelle (scroll down): https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sofindtype=0&_byseller=1&_nkw=&_sacat=0&_udlo=&_udhi=&_ftrt=901&_ftrv=1&_sabdlo=&_sabdhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=60062-7542&_fss=1&_fsradio=%26LH_SpecificSeller%3D1&_saslop=1&_sasl=vintagemodelcarparts&_sop=10&_dmd=1&_fosrp=1&_pgn=3&_skc=400&rt=nc Happy bidding! (Sorry for the interruption, but it is kinda on topic. Now back to our previous broadcast, already in progress. )
  6. Here's another tidbit - this is a quote from the shooting script, released in paperback in December 1973: "Suddenly, there's an ear-splitting roar and they all turn as a yellow '32 Ford deuce coupe - chopped, lowered and sporting a Hemi V8 - bumps into the lot. The low slung classic rumbles and parks at the rear of the drive in." Maybe you could build one as the script describes it? I recommend getting a copy of the script book either way - it has a lot of little differences (and two additional scenes) from the finished film.
  7. Polar Lights did that very thing with the Aurora Green Hornet's Black Beauty. I think we're probably more likely to see scanning the kits into files to make 3-D prints, on a cottage industry level at least. (I'd like to have my Lindberg 1/32 Granada scanned into a 1/25 3-D print! )
  8. Heads up, guys - Did a search on eBay for the Bichi Toys '57 Buick Roadmaster from Argentina; found one listed at $74.90 and put it on my watch list. This morning I got an email titled "Seller offered a special discount $39.90 on OLD VERY RARE BUICK 1957..." saying since I was interested, the seller was offering it cheaper. I was close to going ahead with it but some type of spider-sense told me to check on it, so I sent it to spoof@ebay.com. Sure enough, I got a message a few minutes later saying in part "Most likely, the message you received was not sent to you by eBay." Interesting thing was the fake message was sent to my eBay inbox as well. Anybody else get an email like this? I've never been sent a "discount" email like that before. Here's the car in question: https://www.ebay.com/itm/OLD-VERY-RARE-BUICK-1957-BICHI-CARLOS-V-ARGENTINA-ANTIQUE-TIN-TOY-CAR/362599436340?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 I've discussed it before; it was cribbed from the original '57 Roadmaster promo but molded in styrene - so no warp/shrinkage.
  9. Beautiful rescue, Jean-Philippe!
  10. Well worth the battle, Tom!
  11. If those are vinyl tires, you can probably scrape it off with your thumbnail.
  12. RIP Doris - Always admired her for sticking by Rock Hudson to the end. I got this from a dealer many years ago: And I bet Doris would have gotten a laugh at this: "The late Associated Press writer Bob Thomas in Los Angeles and AP writer Shawn Marsh in Trenton, New Jersey, contributed to this report." That's living well when you outlast the guy who wrote your obituary!
  13. Me too - Christmas 1964: Good luck Paul - looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
  14. It might; maybe the tank area could be swapped into the '58 chassis? I have a Jimmy Flintstone '58 sedan delivery body I may try that with; I checked it against the AMT Impala chassis and it's a much better fit than on the promo.. This one is staying curbside with a few improvements; for example, the windshield has an - umm - "interesting" fit issue I think I have figured out.
  15. Does the Chrysler have the custom wheelcovers that look like Caddy Sabres? Please PM me if you want to trade 'em. Congrats on your win!
  16. One heck of a friend you got there! If you need taillights for the '62 Imperial, besides the AMT and Revell kits, the AMT '63 Buick Electra had them as custom parts - might be easier to find someone selling off all the Buick's custom bits.
  17. I guess some kind-hearted person at Round2 opened up whatever gates could be easily opened just so we could get some extra goodies, which is why we got a handful of extra bits now. I'm not complaining - the '65 Olds Modifed Stocker had the horns I needed for my '64 Caddy . (Wonder what might be lurking in the Boss Nova tool? As it is it comes with one stock '63 wheel cover.)
  18. No, I have far too few as in zero, or 1 if you count the Modified Stocker (or should that be -1?) I do have two Craftsman Nova wagons; one built and one builder that will get a six-banger from an original kit. No '60 pickup either (last one on eBay went for $152 and change).
  19. You are correct sir! "Hint: Starred an Abe Lincoln and a guy who worked for Ronald Reagan, and Tab Hunter's old boyfriend." John Anderson (played Lincoln on screen three times) - John Gavin (later ambassador to Mexico) - Anthony Perkins (according to Tab)
