Dioramas begun: '50s Ford 'hardtopper', TV sitcom cars, lunar rover

Yep - which was once accidentally caught on camera by a photographer getting a publicity still for the movie Juvenile Jungle. You can even read the label: -

Not only that, that mock-up car in the interior shots is a '61 Ford Galaxie four-door sedan (which explains the fake pillars on the Plymouth) - check out the shape of the windows and the upholstery pattern on the doors. The Plymouth steering wheel they added doesn't match the column, either. (IMCDb.org) (Mecum Auctions) -
1964 Comet Crash - Opinions?
ChrisBcritter replied to Sledsel's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It would be interesting to have seen him and his lawyer go over the whole script, line by line, mainly avoiding the phrase "I'm/He's/We're sorry" and any reference to the occupants of the other cars. More to the point, anyone know what caused such a complete and sudden failure? Assuming it was a dual master cylinder, could it have been the pedal linkage, or something else? Having had a close call last week when one of my front metal brake lines burst after a panic stop (idiot in a newer red Caddy ran a stop sign in front of me), I'm being extra cautious/paranoid, replacing both front lines (rears already done) and giving other cars even more space than usual. In fact, when I was looking at a '66 LeSabre hardtop on Craigslist yesterday as a potential weekend fun car, the first thing I looked up on it was where to get a dual pot master conversion. -

And for us car buffs, he was the beleaguered motorcycle cop in the big chase scene towards the end of Sex and the Single Girl; he ended up going cuckoo and trying to arrest everyone at LAX.

One my mom always recognized because he showed up in so many Westerns.

What's the Worst Car You Ever Had?
ChrisBcritter replied to Miatatom's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
OK, I'm in: So after my dad's cast-off '69 Olds was on the ropes some family friends suggested I get a VW - great on gas, easy to park, easy to fix - but I wanted an automatic. So after looking through a lot of classifieds, I spotted this '71 411 wagon being sold for $900 by a Porsche mechanic. And if you can't trust a Porsche mechanic... ? The good: It was a California car so it wasn't rotten like every other one I saw. It did get pretty good mileage compared to a '69 Delta 88 with a 455. It was pretty nimble and fun to drive. The cassette deck worked. And... that's about it. The bad: A lot of nickel-and-dime stuff. Neutral safety switch failed a week after I got it, tires had cracks like the Grand Canyon, left side wheels were off another car (silver), ineffective heater (VW, duh!) and the engine had a fatal flaw: one of the case bolts had stripped and was hanging on by... a thread. It soon developed multiple oil and transmission leaks and my parents weren't too crazy about the 10w/40 and ATF doing a Jackson Pollack number on the driveway. The fact that the oil pressure warning light had been disconnected didn't help matters either. It finally crapped out in the snow-covered parking lot at my work six months later, and the money I was saving to put toward a better car by next summer (preferably a good used Karmann Ghia convertible with AutoStick, about $2500 then) instead went toward this: Rusty but a lot more comfortable. One of my co-workers (a VW buff) saw it and said, "Let me ask you one question. ARE YOU CRAZY?" I plead the 5th on that one. -
My boss was in this movie - he's driving the '75 Chevy convertible that appears at the end of the chase. He took these photos on location:

Wonder if anyone will be taking the Bronco chassis and sticking it under the '61 Ranchero, or Pinto wagon?

Or Keef Hartley? Somewhere in one of my early 1970s Rod & Custom mags there's a shot of a T-bucket with a rear window that spells out "Keef" - when I find it I'll scan it.

First name, last initial, and critter since I thought it sounded good, plus a play on words from Crispy Critters cereal - sounds like a nickname from third grade, but I first made it up in 2011 when I joined the Hokey Ass Message Board (the H.A.M.B.). And if you've ever seen The Sunshine Boys, you'll remember "woids wit a K sound are funny".

On the '66 T-bird, the wheels and tonneau are a nice improvement. At this point, is there anything you folks at Round2 can do about the poor fit of that lower front pan?

Big score on that Jo-Han '67 Chrysler 300! The '69 Chevy pickup's a pretty nice find too; too bad somebody stuck that optional firetruck panel on the driver's rear fender. As for that Ideal Toy "Mercedes", the less said the better...

I was watching the 1954 movie Down Three Dark Streets on TCM just now, and spotted this toy truck with a familiar logo on the door (image from a poor quality YouTube dub): Sure enough, it's Revell (eBay image via Worthpoint): Wonder if Atlantis got the mold for this one? (ETA: Who's going be first to say "What truck? All I see is Ruth Roman in lingerie!" )

Who made a 62 Imperial

Correct - and the AMT grille has the headlight lenses molded in, while the Revell kit had separate clear lenses.
