Pearl white question?
Perspect Scale Modelworks replied to V8tiger's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
My last build was painted with Tamiya pearl white. It's a 3d print so I covered it in gray primer sealer first, then Tamiya white primer with the pearl over that. -
Lemonade out of lemons for sure. Any more pics?

Can someone tell me what the wheelbase is on the MPC '79 Nova? I may be able to use the chassis for another project. Thanks

Oh wow, very cool. Growing up in NY in the '70s, I got very familiar with "Trues and Vogues" (15" Cragar Truespoke Starwire rims mounted on Vogue tires). Thank you -

Thanks Nathan. At least with my prints, there's quite a bit of sanding, but still easier than trying to get the Revell kit converted. Yes, I tried and gave up. -
I printed this from the Andrey Bezrodny/coachbuilders.ua file. The body is Tamiya TS-45 Pearl White, TS-7 Racing White on the roof, and Krylon Satin Burgundy for the interior. I'm not happy with how the Krylon sprayed. Very thin and runny. The 24" spokes are from the Revell Escalade 2 'N 1 kit, mounted on 'Vogue' tires I designed and printed. The crests and scripts were added with 3D Builder, and I used a few PE parts from Detail Junkees (great stuff and I hope he can get back up and running soon). I saw something similar to this on social media and it reminded me of the Buick 225 my friend had way back in the 1900s. Far from perfect, but a reasonable facsimile and I just had to get it out of my head. Thanks for looking, and let me know what you think.

Nice subtle changes. Looks good! -
So plan A was like Steve's suggestion, and just used rubbing compound. Neither Tamiya or Novus removed the glue stain, but they did smooth it down a bit. Plan B, wetsanding. I used a hole punch on 2500 and 3000 grit paper, and glued them to pencil erasers. I was able to keep the sanding area small. This worked ok. The spot now looks more like a paint error and less like a glue goof. It's detectable when you get really close. I should have probably started with 2000 grit, but this is ok for me. The thought of getting deeper into this repair gives me agida. There are a few other flaws on this one so I'll let it go as is and move on to the next one. I'll have pictures posted in Under Glass soon. In the mean time, you can check out the video on IG, https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNa8hZasp6R/?igsh=MThyaHFvcnBraTduaQ== Thanks for all the input!
