  1. cool looking zebra, stare at it long enough, and it turns into KW, lol cool idea and build
  2. it's done, other than an outside mirror. did a lot of 'firsts for me' on this build in an attempt to get more detail on my builds. I have to thank Bowtienutz [for some detail parts/advice] and Hawk312 [for some painting advice he gave me in another thread], they both really helped make a difference on this project whether they know it or not. so, without further blabbing, here it is, thanks for looking.
  3. that is just plain super!
  4. didn't know such a kit existed, now I need one to replicate the 71 SS I used to own, that's pretty cool!
  5. thanks for the encouraging words guys . I hope to finish it up tomorrow night. Vince, you crack me up
  6. good to hear highway, glad you're feelin better.
  7. this is pretty cool, the cab vents are really slick. I like where this is going
  8. haha, I hear ya. I recently bought one of the 1/12 vette kits [can't wait till it arrives], when I get around to building it, your builds and this build thread will be my inspiration/motivation.
  9. Mike, the black ones seem to be plentifull, seem to have been re-issued a couple times, not sure if the red one has been re-issued, seems sort of few and far between.
  10. looking good, this is going to be a beauty.
  11. I used masking tape and painted it black.........was all I had on hand.....
  12. looking good, can't wait to see more
  13. thanks, and yeah, ya caught me, I didn't put one half of a belt pair in there, was getting crowded Vince, thanks for the clarification
  14. you got it goin on! fantastic job, and great looking fleet of these! just fantastic
  15. I musta had a 1/2 dozen of these as a kid, both it and the one molded in black. when I got back into modeling again, I found a surplus of the black ones, but no red ones, so on the hunt I went. I found a few 1/2 builts that weren't too bad, and then finally found that one for a reasonable price.
  16. looks great so far, although I must say, the two 'failed missions' don't look so bad to me. foil looks fantastic, well done.
  17. thanks guys. a big thanks to Bowtienutz [Vince], he hooked me up with the belt buckles and window cranks/door handles, I think he is just trying to make me work harder at these things , seriously though, thru his sending me parts like this, it has made me think a little more about what I am doing, and realizing how much better things look with that little extra something. will probably 'pad' the arm rest on the next one. Vince, I made the belts long, as all the A body cars I had back in the day had super long belts. I even had one that had 'clips' on the bottom edge of the bottom of the back seat to hook the buckles to, to keep them orderly. Carl, as mentioned, Vince hooked me up with the door hardware, the packaging says 'Replicas & Miniatures Company of Maryland' hopefully Vince will pop back in and verify. good stuff though! although, I have to ask him for sure, as I think I need to order a bunch of these for 'stock', lol. thanks again guys, body is now glued on, with some luck, later tonight or tomorrow she should be about done
  18. got this the other day, have 2 open/semi builts of it, but finally scored a sealed one,
  19. got a little more done, a little more mock up to see how it looks, thanks for looking.
  20. the 'sheen' of the interior is spot on! whole car is looking sweet too!
