  1. last two days, got the astro from a member here. [Chris guthro]
  2. that looks terrific, great job!
  3. that is pretty slick!
  4. I've been using testors ultra gloss clear coat [product number 28139], it's lacquer and hasn't bothered my decals yet, plus I find it sprays great and you can lay it on pretty good without runs/sags. not with sure how it would react with what paint you are using, but might be worth a try if you can find/get it.
  5. I have been using future for windows and lenses, I like it, and it's been working well for me so far.
  6. ok, started another project to try this with. this has 5 coats of clear on it [two over the stripes], in a few more days I am going to hit with the 205 and 105 to see if I can really get it gleaming, so far this is out of the can finish. will post results. and thanks again for the info/tips.
  7. what a work of art. It looks like I need to really surf the old posts, some real gems tucked away here.
  8. nice job, rust looks great, nice weathering.
  9. great looking model! well done, looks awesome. it would seem the ACE rust stop in the back ground isn't working very well
  10. wow, great looking pair! nice work man!
  11. welcome, i'm from the Oneida area. lotta new york folks on here.
  12. grabbed all this stuff at the Spring Thaw show this past sunday,
  13. dragging my feet a bit on this one. got the interior almost all painted up on the sleeper, it's looking pretty good I think. been puttering on the tanker trailer for it as well [two builds from heck, go figure], pretty soon though it should all come together. thanks for following along.
  14. looks great, will be watching this build.
  15. holy smokes those are nice!
  16. thanks guys after a long winter of looking at them in the house it was nice to get them into some different light [at the show and outside]. I will admit, that orange IS really bright, lol. best part of it all, with hauling it all to and from the show, messing around with them in the driveway, and putting them away, I only broke off 1 mud flap, and that was while putting the pete back in the cabinet
  17. after getting back into the hobby last September, I find I am buying many kits from my youth, it's amazing how seeing/buying the kit again seems to jog the old memory, takes me right back to the day I first built the particular kit. to me, that is priceless.
  18. thanks, wish I had a better camera, but the cell phone does ok. was nice to see them in the sun for a change. [heck, it was nice to see the sun for a change.......]
  19. I saw this in person today at the Spring Thaw show, it looks even better in person, just a fantastic build. was also nice talking with ya today at the end of the show Bill. great truck! [love the condenser tubes ]
  20. apparently the fella who has to do all the outside chores you have lined up
  21. Justin, was nice to meet you, had a great time. you guys put on a wonderful show today, there were a ton of great looking models there well done for a first show, congrat's. also met a bunch of cool folks today, and a number of them are members here, was neat to see the builds I have watched on-line for so long in person. thanks again, it was a blast
  22. well, after what seems like a never ending winter, I went to the Spring Thaw Show in Utica NY today, was a great show with an incredible turn out, and I had a great time. when I got home, I thought it'd be a good time to take some outside pictures [before they went back into the display cabinet], so here they are in some actual sunshine
  23. packed and ready my stuff isn't great, but i look forward to showing it to other builders, and meeting some other 'locals'. and also plan on buying more stuff than i need.........
