Thanks for the help. Looks like that's the way I'm going to go with carburetor painting from now on. I've been looking for the right color to paint carburetors with for the last 4 or 5 builds. I ended up with more of a goldish chrome which was okay but I like this a lot better.

Thanks David. I'm still working on this one but I'm at a crossroads as to how far I should go with it. I've got the outside walls up and have started a planter for the outside of the window area. I've got a wood picket fence that I'm putting together so it can be seen while looking out the rear window. Still trying to figure a few other things out as well for the outside of the building itself. More pics coming.............

In referring back to this photo.......... What color did you paint those carburetors JC? That engine looks superb!! I like the natural lay of the ignition wires.

Any more progress on this one Tory?

What happened.

Man.............this is just off tha charts! Fantastic work from every angle. Your figure painting is at a premium. That's an area of modeling that I have not ventured into but really want to especially when I see it so artfully done as it is here. Great work Mike.

I see one of these printers in my future. That's some dang fine work there buddy.

Thanks Dave. I'm pulling my typical stuff where things tend to get out of control. I guess that's what I like most about this hobby is that I can start out in one direction and the next thing I know I'm heading off in another completely different one. I am having a lot of fun with this though as this is my first time working with dioramas.

Well gang...............I started thinking about how I could go about the outside of the walls but didn't just want to put something directly over the walls because the window and door wouldn't be spaced in any plus it'd be really hard to cover what is already there without damaging the walls that I already have in place. So I came up with an idea. I cut out a piece of plexiglass the dimensions of the walls and cut out the window area for the back wall and will cut out the door area for the side wall so that both items are spaced in from the outside of the walls. Wall trimming in progress: and the outside of the wall now covered in a textured brick pattern covering from Dollhouse Miniatures. I've still got a little clean up to do but you get the picture.

Thanks for the good word Ron. Yes you can get them from there but there's another spot to get them at as well at a site called Scale Equipment Ltd. Here's the link: http://www.seltd.net/cgi-bin/ez-catalog/cat_display.cgi?account=X344897;search=20;search=Food Details;limit=category;v=2.0

Thanks fellas. Dave: The filing cabinet and calendar and all that stuff is 1:1 Got a little more done and thought I'd have some fun today. I have more signs but was careful not to overdo it. The sign over the door made me laugh my ass off. Actually.................BOTH did. Look closely. In the foreground are the Evergreen strips for the window trim. Gotta make some diagonal cuts in the ends in which to butt them together, prime and paint 'em up and get 'em on the wall still.

Man that is COOL and it's a brilliant idea for a diorama!!

Thanks Jeremy, Dave and JC. Yeah it was a little too dang clean .............ya know? Well fellas I've spent ALOT of time working on the base garage and have made some satisfactory progress. For starters I installed the door into the opening but it didn't look right without the door trim around the opening so I cut some Evergreen into strips, painted and cleared 'em, installed them and weathered them some without going overboard. I'll be doing this with the window opening as well. I also put together an old Chevy Truck advertisement into a picture frame by taping the photo onto the back of some clear Evergreen styrene and then masking and painting a frame onto the front of it. Getting back to the door I dirtied it up a bit and threw a couple of performance decals on it just to give the shop some character. Door handle and lock were painted with a Molotow Chrome pen and installed. Lastly, I decided to throw something oddball in. In my office is a file cabinet with a fishing advertisement sticker on the side of it and I thought and decided I could throw it on the wall in between the shelves of my storage shelving that's going to go into that corner for a subtle addition to the shop. Here's the sticker in my office: Here's the shop after installing all of what I've talked about here this morning. Notice the sticker made into a decal on the wall as well.
