  1. LOL! Hey.....it works!
  2. I'll get you covered Mark. I couldn't bring myself to buy a $120+ Franklin Mint '54 Chev to rob the headlight bezels from it so I bought this kit for $15 to rob the headlamp bezels and lenses from due to the Revell kit not having any bezels. I'll be Frenching the bezels into the body. The tail lights are the same story. Haven't quite figured out how I'm going to do those yet.
  3. This is a great idea!! I never liked the wheels much on this kit but other'n that it looked cool. I like that shine on that car body..............a lot!!
  4. Atta boi cheecho!!! Keep it rollin bud! Your throttle return spring looks great!!! I've tried this a couple of times and mine always look like junk! I switched over to light bulb filaments robbed from 1:1 scale 3157 turn signal bulbs....
  5. Good Lord!! This paint job should be fun to watch!!
  6. The more I looked at this engine the more I thought to myself , "Man that's just way too much chrome!". I'm not an avid user of chrome on real life engines so I don't see myself over using it in automotive modeling. The effect with chrome I'm usually after is a subtle effect so I'll leave the rocker covers and velocity stacks chrome and strip the intake and common plenum and paint those an aluminum color. I'll be using carburetors from either another kit or AM. Which ones I don't know yet. As of right now the intake and plenum are in an Easy Off bath............ I hope to have progress pictures up in a day or so.
  7. Man thanks for the great compliment Ron! Yeah this kit isn't one of those that just put itself together alright. Truth be told, just about every part of the build fought me every inch of the way. lol. I'll be looking for that '63 build of yours.
  8. That's just some straight up good stuff right there Mike! You really showed 'em how it's done with this one.
  9. Not bad Rob. Not bad at all.
  10. So far so good Rich! Build'n 'er up just like a real motor.
  11. You know.......I think I will....lolololol. Thanks Andy!!
  12. Cool build! Are those the wheels from the Dukes of Hazzard Charger kit Riley?
  13. I started out with the engine build like I always do on an automotive build. I primed with black on this one and shot the coat of paint like always but this time instead of adding a light wash I shot it with a gloss coat. To compliment the shiny paint job I thought I'd depart from the norm again and dress this one up with some chrome. I'm giving thought to dunking the chrome rocker covers in a dip of future and Tamiya smoke mixed together to give it that extra shine as well as to preserve the chrome. It's a big block and doesn't say which one it is so I'll assume this is a 396. Here's the mock up:
  14. Looks like a lot of good planning going into this one.
  15. Man that turned out really good Ron! The 428 in there was a sneaky but great idea!
  16. Jason: It's all good dude! I do like the gasser look but I started on a crusade earlier this year paying tribute to the Street Demons line up in a different fashion. Thanks for the link to that build!! Dave: Thanks bud! I built this kit a long time ago (34 years) when it came out. I didn't do it any justice back then but I had a lot of fun with it. I'm hoping to redeem myself with this build. lol
  17. I remembered this thread but couldn't find it until now. This is truly an inspiring project Greg. I'm building one right now but aint no where near this radical. Could you tell me which die cast you used for the parts?
  18. The work that's going into this is unbelievable. Lovin' the progress Steve!!
  19. Thanks gator, Dave, Jim, Jim (microwheel) , and Riley. Jim (micro wheel) : I'll call you on Friday pal.
  20. Man what a clean build Tulio!! All the details look great and the paint job is just gorgeous! What technique did you use with the wood in the bed? It looks real!
  21. Thanks Fred! Good seeing you around dude. Mark: PM sent... Ben: I hear that's a common problem with this kit. ...............yeah..........we'll be big blocking this one............
  22. This...................looks fabulous Drew! Great detail in there!!
  23. Jeeeez!!!! I just spent about 15 minutes just browsing this thread and the work here is just out of the park!!! Wow!!! Well..............here's my latest two. 340 Six Pack in my 70 Challenger T/A and a Boss 429 in my 56 Ford F-100 and a little closer...
