Bring 'er home Fred. Spectacular so far. Say I used your solder method for my exhaust on my 56 F-100 and it worked fantastic!!! I only ended up having one issue, the flux in the solder melted out and stained my aluminum muffler. Yikes!! -

Henry J Twin Turbo - Didn't see that coming..........
mustang1989 replied to Codi's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Stuff like this makes me want to put away my plastic toys and say "Daddy can I play now? " . This is truly remarkable work here Tim. You sir have a true craft............and gift. -
Well over the weekend I was able to make some progress on this thing. All in all this old Revell kit has got to be among the worst fitting kits I've seen yet. I'm sure there's others but this one is among 'em. I've got fit issues with the windshield and the doors as well as inner fender wells that have thrown me off track but I keep chuggin' along nevertheless. The BMF adventure turned out ok and I managed to get the passenger side door shoe horned in there and got it to look half decent. I messed with the photos to bring the red out as close to what it actually is here..

Carl:Thank you bud and speakin' of screwdriver.....where did I put that thing? lol Mike: I appreciate the comments and I'll tell you this thing is a tough kit. I just got through test fitting the windshield and there were huge gaps in the upper corners between the glass and the opening. No shortage of filing and grinding there. Dennis: Thank you sir!

I was applying BMF to the passengers door window trim this morning and looked over at the truck bed and realized I haven't posted any pictures of the wood planks and mini wheel tubs that I fabricated in the bed yet. I figured I'd get that posted up this morning. and then a close up of the license plate retaining hardware:

'66 Barracuda "Hemi Under Glass" --To be cont'd......
mustang1989 replied to mustang1989's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
That is a 67 Barracuda. I did a lot more research on that ride and it belongs to a fella by the name of Ken Kiefer. It's a pretty Bad A car too (again with the puns....) . Looks like I'll be replicating this one in the future so I'm off to buy a 67 Barracuda kit. The stance and look on this bad boy are just way too cool! -

Pretty sure you're right about that due to the side marker "dots" not being there. You get the picture( pardon the pun) though. I do like the notch backs as well. -

It's with the utmost respect that I say that there are distinct differences between the 66 and the 67-69 year model Barracudas. They are all A bodies this is true but the rear of these cars , although all are fastbacks, are vastly different between the 66 and 67-69 years. The 66 has a distinct "wrap around" rear window as opposed to a slight wrap on the 67-69s and the trunk lids are contoured a lot more on the 66 than it is on the 67. Tail lights and rear panel-totally different. Believe me, after owning a 1966 model myself for 2+ decades and being an avid fan of these cars, they look nothing alike from the rear. Check it out: The 1966 model The 1967 model:(and this is one cool lookin' Cuda-I may have to check into this one a little more for a possible future build) -

As far as I know, this box art is just for a 66 Barracuda like I've got. They usually go for about 30 bucks. Check it out http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMT-ERTL-1966-PLYMOUTH-BARRACUDA-HEMI-UNDER-GLASS-WHEELSTANDER-FUNNY-CAR-KIT-FS-/252043385163?hash=item3aaef4d94b:m:mGoANk4l_OCfrO7vQOCWjbA I'm looking forward to getting started as well. I just don't have much for reference right now and I could stand some more of that on this particular car. -
