  1. Man that's a clean build Norbert! Looks great!!
  2. Way lookin' forward to more on this one!!
  3. This is just a brilliant build! The detail is just out of this world Tyrone!
  4. I just dropped in on this build and I just cant belie...........
  5. Thanks Jim! Okeedokee folks. Here are the kit decals............ and here's the AM ones..... Quite a bit of difference I'd say............
  6. Justin: Thanks a lot man! Tom: LOL! Thank you for your comments. I think it's now bordering on going koo-koo! So far so good here. It's been a bit since my last update but I've been painting body parts now for the last two weeks. Here's a quick test fit. I need to raise the front end just a tad but I'm likin' it so far. Flames came in last night so I hope to get started on that pretty quick.
  7. I'll be finishing up with my 56 Ford F-100 in the coming 30 days (hopefully it'll be before the show on 10 October) and was pondering my next project. I've been really itchin' to do an aircraft build but this Barracuda keeps calling my name so I'm going to go for it after my F-100. I thought I'd go ahead and lock myself into a build thread so that I'll commit myself to building this cool a$$ car. A pic of the 1:1 version I'll be using for the build........ and a pic of the kit............ I looked in the box and wasn't all that impressed but with a little TLC I feel like it can be brought around to a decent looking build. I've got a complete "correct" AM decal sheet from Slixx to replace the whole two decals that come with the kit and have just ordered a Ross Gibson 426 Hemi and I was lucky to get it because all Ross Gibson engines are disappearing from all vendors due to the fact that Ross died last year. I'm also looking for the correct size drag slicks for the back which is proving to be a pain in tha............. !! Any ways, gimme a few weeks and I'll be on this one.
  8. Thanks Dave! Things are crawlin' along with this build. Nothing to post pics about yet. I mean all I'd be posting is a tail gate painted, then maybe some steps and the hood scoop. I will say this , the next update will be a big one so just know that I am in fact still progressing with this truck. 12 more days to go..............
  9. This is awesome!! Which kit is this? My dad had one of these but it was definitely not in that good of shape.lol
  10. Don't laugh.......I've had some adult mechanics that would have argued the point that the filter belonged there! lol Great progress BTW.
  11. I'll need a slick about 1.1" tall and around .6-.7" wide. Thanks Hugh!
  12. Hmmmm.....now you've got me thinkin'.......Looks like a visit to HL tomorrow. Thanks Mark!!
  13. Thank you very much for the response Mark. I've got an AMT Mark Martin Thunderbird that I've tried that option with. It's too small to do the trick as it doesn't fill the wheel opening like the pic above does.
  14. Ok folks. I'm going to be starting AMT's 66 Hemi Under Glass Barracuda coming up here pretty soon. I have a set of 1/24 Goodyear Eagle slicks that I test fitted and were WAY too big scale wise. I'm looking for an Goodyear Eagle slick that's just the right dimensions to look something like this: I already know I'm probably going to have to open up AMT's rear wheel opening a little to fit a tire in there and make it look dimensionally sound but I'm running out of options tire wise here after searching high and low on the internet . Thanks in advance for any help, Joe
  15. Looks good Nick. I took the liberty of helping you out here with the photos.
  16. Gotcha covered here with the pics Nick!
  17. Lookin' good there Nick! Glad to see you made it over!
  18. Gator and Carl: Thanks a lot fellas! The truck bed is coming right along and I hope to be done with that part by Friday.
  19. Cool project Stephen! One things for sure, you got plenty of reference material. lol. This looks to be some good fun to watch.
  20. Thanks Dan! I'll be building around it. I'll probably build the truck bed and get everything else going so the flames will be the last thing that needs to be done if everything goes right.
  21. Thanks Dave!! I just wasn't feelin' the paint job from earlier so in the brake fluid it went to strip everything and started the whole process over again only this time the paint came out smoother and I actually made it to the clear coat this time around Here it is with the paint and the clear. I still have to apply the flames (which I ordered an adhesive template today from Australia) and clear it again. Then it'll be down to polishing and buffing out the clear. We're gettin' there folks! Here's a mock up with the grille just stuck in place:
  22. Thanks Danno!!! I had a blast with this thing. She aint perfect but it's about 70% original.
  23. What a color!!!! Good build.
  24. Dang Randy!! Talkin' about sensory overload with the beauties here! Nice bunch of Camaro's bud!
