Forgot about the slick dimensions Jim. I'll get that to you today or in the morning. I received this in the mail a couple of days ago. The resto of this car was Hillborn Fuel Injected soooooo....................... -
Thanks Kevin. I paid 10 bucks for it and it's complete so I figure I got a good deal on it.

What non-auto model did you get today?

I got this one as a door prize at the Austin Capitol Classic model show this last weekend. I opened it up and so far it looks like a pretty swell kit.... -

Man it's good to see you back on this Fred! I was just thinkin' about this build the other day and man have you ever come back with a vengeance!!! Color and paint application are just astounding!!! Will be watching this one for sure!!!! -
Thank you Dave! This morning I cut about a 1/2" off of each side of the rear bumper and currently have it immersed in brake fluid to remove the chrome plating. After it comes out of there I'll clean it up and treat it to a coat of Alclad II chrome and buff it out. I've got some retaining bolt heads for that license plate as well. Hmm.....may have to fix that up. The overall fit and look so far:

Show's over!!! I'm back on this one 100% as of this morning. First things first, I chunked the hood into the brake fluid this morning. I didn't even look back as I'm ready to just start over with that part. I had some fit issues with the side step fit interference at the front of the rear fender blister area at both sides. Fortunately I don't have to trim anything as it is an assembly order thing. All I have to do is install the bed first and then the steps so that problem is solved thankfully!! If any of you guys are going to the San Antonio show I'll most likely be done with this one in time for that. This morning I installed the tail lights and license plate. Here's a bed test fit to show the results of that........

Thanks Jim! I'll get the dimensions for you pretty quick. The slicks he sent me have Goodyear on one side and Firestone on the flip side. I'll let you know. This was my car and it's actually the true inspiration for this build. These pics were taken in 1985 with an old Kodak Disk camera and although grainy, here's pictures my very first car. I've given thought a time or two getting the ol' girl back from the current owner as I know right where shes at..............rotting away in a field. UPDATE: Although iffy, I'm currently trying to get ahold of the current owner of my old car. We'll see where it leads from here.... and the mildly hot rodded 318 V-8 I built for it..... -
It's hard to tell what is shinier, the paint job on the car or the mirror like base that it's resting on. Beautiful ride man!!
-
Man this is colorful! Cool build on a car that you don't see built every day.

Man I just love the precise nature of all the engine detail. Stuff like the nuts and bots, fittings, and all the neat and tidy routing. Just makes the thing look like real live stuff. You're kicking this things tail Tyrone!!! -

You know I was thinking two things Dan. 1.) This is just too cool!!! I love it! and 2.) It woulda been cool if you would have tossed a Boss 302 or Boss 429 engine in there to go with that "The Boss" logo on your ride! -
Thanks guys! Jim the decals are from Anarchy in Australia. Fellas I've spent the last seven months on this truck and it's just been a total blast to build. I have, however, now caught myself trying rush to the finish line for next Saturdays show in Austin and it just aint gonna happen. I got off light this morning by trying to clear coat the hood. The flames cracked after I applied the clear. I knew better as the dark red hadn't fully cured out. Again I got off light as it could have been the body. The hood's easy, just throw it in brake fluid and strip it (this makes the 3rd time for that hood too) and start over with it. No biggie in the "big picture" of things really. I've still got the mask ready to go for this next time and will now be taking my time with it. I do plan on hitting the show in Houston next April with it though. For those going, I hope to see you in Austin. I'll be packing the Challenger T/A and a couple of aircraft builds to take up there.

I appreciate the great comments there Carl, Gordon and Mark. I'm backin' off on the F-100 a little as I'm finding myself rushing to meet the Austin show deadline next Saturday. It just aint gonna make it there this go round. I'll have it done for the Houston show coming up in April of '16. I'm not going to hurry through this thing after 7 months of throwing god knows what effort into it only to foul it up in the final stages. I'm going to be slowing down on it and taking my time to ensure the best wrap up. I'll be on this one here and there and picking up parts for it along the way. -
Thanks Gary. Here's another view that shows the whole front clip with flames. I was going for a really subtle look going for the "Ghost of Street Demons" look to pay tribute to the Street Demons series of this truck released back in 1983. Just gotta smooth it a little and go for another coat of gloss clear. We're off to the races now. lol
