  1. Thanks Dan! Yeah that'll make two of us on looking forward to seeing this one finished pal. I can't wait to get this thing off my bench! lol ........and to think this was supposed to be ready for the show on October 10th. What a laugh. lol
  2. I'm likin' that set up you've got going there Dan!
  3. Come on down with this thing there Clayton!!!! Wow man!! Eyes glued to the screen...........
  4. Thanks a lot Dan and Gator!! All I've gotta say is that when I did the gloss coat on my Challenger build a few months back either 1.) God was with me , 2.) the stars were all lined up just right, 3.) Hell did in fact freeze over or 4.) it must have been pure dumb luck because this paint job here has given me a run for my money!!! I'm still in the fight and aint giving up though!!! This morning I wet sanded all the minor cracking I saw in the gloss finish over the flames on the body and polished the heck out of it with Novus 2. I also repainted the flames on the 4th friggin paint job on this hood and will be letting that all gas out for 3 or 4 days before attempting another gloss coat on it. The roof got a wet sanding and polishing as well and I glued two retaining screw heads onto the rear license plate to tidy that up a little. It was a busy morning since 3:30 a.m. and I got to spend 4 solid hours on this thing so I feel like I got a lot done with it. I ended up lightening the pics up a little so the flames can be seen a little better. Under the right lighting these things jump out at you. You can see where the finish is a lot smoother in this photo particularly at the front of the fender area. I'm surprising myself with these results. The flames on the hood came out better this time around IMO because I thinned the decanted paint a little more and got it to come out a little smoother. Here's a shot with everything installed as it's gonna be. So far I've got good feelin's about this time 'round.....
  5. I just got this one in yesterday. This'll complete the collection of the Street Demons series. I guess I didn't have to get all of these in the SD line up as all of those kits have been released numerous times with several different schemes and options but I just wanted 'em for nostalgia's sake. I had all these as a kid but only built like two full kits with two others partially built before chucking 'em in the trash. It's just nice to take a trip down memory lane I guess. I
  6. LOL. I get about an hour per day in the morning through the week but on the weekends I tend to get 3+. It doesn't count for much when I have to keep going backwards though!
  7. Thanks Tim! I'll probably be an old man by the time it is. lol
  8. Carl: Thanks and no sir I didn't get to take it to the show but its all good anyways. It's a little bit from being done. Dan: I appreciate that and hopefully I'll get this all right this time. Just to show that I'm still pluggin away at this ol' mule I snapped some shots of the most recent gloss coat this morning. There are still a few traces of cracks but I'm going to be wet sanding that out and polishing that all out with the Novus. I believe this will be the final coat of gloss on the body. I managed to shoot the same coat of gloss on my hood.................again!!! Hood has the same shine as the body here. If you look closely you can see the flames where there isn't a shine. It's what I was aiming for.....a VERY subtle hint of flames.
  9. What catches my eye about your builds is the likeness to realism and it's something that I'm striving for. I like how you can take a model and paint everything up with all the shades and colors you do, throw your skills with Alclad in and then apply detail that mimics real stuff to create something this extraordinary. Builds like this is what sets a replication apart from a model. .
  10. I cant get over that shine!!!! Glad I got in on this one for sure. Hold on fellas..........this one's gonna be good!
  11. You're really throwin' a lot at this one! Looking forward to more.
  12. Scratchbuilt headers I take it? Great progress thus for JC!
  13. Over the top man. Just over the top.
  14. This is nuts!!! Keep the good work coming Joe!!
  15. You're in a league of your own with this one pal.
  16. Forgot about the slick dimensions Jim. I'll get that to you today or in the morning. I received this in the mail a couple of days ago. The resto of this car was Hillborn Fuel Injected soooooo.......................
  17. I hear you on that and I'll remember it for next time there Kevin.
  18. 'Preciate it Wayne and Kevin. I'd like to do one of the tan snaked birds at some point down the road.
  19. Thanks Kevin. I paid 10 bucks for it and it's complete so I figure I got a good deal on it.
  20. I got this one as a door prize at the Austin Capitol Classic model show this last weekend. I opened it up and so far it looks like a pretty swell kit....
  21. I picked this up from the Austin Capitol Classic show. I've been wanting one of these for a long while now..........
  22. Man it's good to see you back on this Fred! I was just thinkin' about this build the other day and man have you ever come back with a vengeance!!! Color and paint application are just astounding!!! Will be watching this one for sure!!!!
  23. This one went to the Capitol Classic show in Austin as well. Ironically it placed 3rd behind my Stuka . I was a little weirded out by that because I've always considered this to be my best effort aircraft build wise but hey, she placed.
  24. I took the ol' bird to the Austin Capitol Classic this last weekend and it fared pretty good bringin' home a 2nd place award..........
