  1. Dang that's a clean build Randy!
  2. Man I hope so Dan. I'm really trying hard but am not going to get in a rush with it and foul it all up after all I've been through with this thing.
  3. Just pokin' through the threads in this section tells me I've got my dang work cut out for me in keeping up with this groups standard. I look around and see nuthin' but the best at almost every turn here. I'll be giving my best to this one and probably asking a lot of questions a long the way.
  4. Man..........that sure is a purdy truck Aaron!!!
  5. I think I've got the right combination right now with the tires. Here's the rear slicks before.... Which looking back now they look a little too big. And here is what I have now that got sent to me from good ol' Hugh (thank you a million Hugh!) and I don't have to cut any out of the rear wheel openings. I think they are gonna work...........very well. Yeah.....I think THAT'S more like it!
  6. Went out to HL and picked this one up on clearance. In addition to having a spare 427 in the spares bin it had the PERFECT size front runners for what I was looking for in this build. The score: The previous look ..... and the updated look with the replacement tires..... Yeah......I'm definitely feelin' better about that part. Now for re-sizing the rear tires........
  7. Thanks Dave!! I've about got the truck bed done. I've installed the "mini tubs" and got the wood bed all painted up (top and bottom), got the tail gate and hinges on and now I'm working on the tail lights and license plate. Pics soon hopefully............
  8. Yeeeeeeesh! I'm gonna be building mine here in this group and lookin' at stuff like this tells me that I just go into learning mode. Wow! You're settin' the bar waaaay high Tyrone!
  9. Thanks a lot Brian! I'll try not to disappoint. Ok folks. Initially I was going to use a set of slicks that I found from the Revell 68 Hemi Dart boxing. They were a tad too large and I would have ended up shaving some from the wheel openings to make 'em work. The front tires I robbed from another gasser kit I had. It looked ok but at this point I still needed to acquire some better fitting slicks and smaller front tires. Here's a couple of mock up shots of where I was at though-----more coming....... This is where the over sized tire really shows. Will be obtaining smaller ones soon........
  10. Man that's a clean build Norbert! Looks great!!
  11. Way lookin' forward to more on this one!!
  12. This is just a brilliant build! The detail is just out of this world Tyrone!
  13. I just dropped in on this build and I just cant belie...........
  14. Thanks Jim! Okeedokee folks. Here are the kit decals............ and here's the AM ones..... Quite a bit of difference I'd say............
  15. Justin: Thanks a lot man! Tom: LOL! Thank you for your comments. I think it's now bordering on going koo-koo! So far so good here. It's been a bit since my last update but I've been painting body parts now for the last two weeks. Here's a quick test fit. I need to raise the front end just a tad but I'm likin' it so far. Flames came in last night so I hope to get started on that pretty quick.
  16. I'll be finishing up with my 56 Ford F-100 in the coming 30 days (hopefully it'll be before the show on 10 October) and was pondering my next project. I've been really itchin' to do an aircraft build but this Barracuda keeps calling my name so I'm going to go for it after my F-100. I thought I'd go ahead and lock myself into a build thread so that I'll commit myself to building this cool a$$ car. A pic of the 1:1 version I'll be using for the build........ and a pic of the kit............ I looked in the box and wasn't all that impressed but with a little TLC I feel like it can be brought around to a decent looking build. I've got a complete "correct" AM decal sheet from Slixx to replace the whole two decals that come with the kit and have just ordered a Ross Gibson 426 Hemi and I was lucky to get it because all Ross Gibson engines are disappearing from all vendors due to the fact that Ross died last year. I'm also looking for the correct size drag slicks for the back which is proving to be a pain in tha............. !! Any ways, gimme a few weeks and I'll be on this one.
  17. Thanks Dave! Things are crawlin' along with this build. Nothing to post pics about yet. I mean all I'd be posting is a tail gate painted, then maybe some steps and the hood scoop. I will say this , the next update will be a big one so just know that I am in fact still progressing with this truck. 12 more days to go..............
  18. This is awesome!! Which kit is this? My dad had one of these but it was definitely not in that good of shape.lol
  19. Don't laugh.......I've had some adult mechanics that would have argued the point that the filter belonged there! lol Great progress BTW.
  20. I'll need a slick about 1.1" tall and around .6-.7" wide. Thanks Hugh!
  21. Hmmmm.....now you've got me thinkin'.......Looks like a visit to HL tomorrow. Thanks Mark!!
  22. Thank you very much for the response Mark. I've got an AMT Mark Martin Thunderbird that I've tried that option with. It's too small to do the trick as it doesn't fill the wheel opening like the pic above does.
  23. Ok folks. I'm going to be starting AMT's 66 Hemi Under Glass Barracuda coming up here pretty soon. I have a set of 1/24 Goodyear Eagle slicks that I test fitted and were WAY too big scale wise. I'm looking for an Goodyear Eagle slick that's just the right dimensions to look something like this: I already know I'm probably going to have to open up AMT's rear wheel opening a little to fit a tire in there and make it look dimensionally sound but I'm running out of options tire wise here after searching high and low on the internet . Thanks in advance for any help, Joe
  24. Looks good Nick. I took the liberty of helping you out here with the photos.
