  1. Thanks Dan! I got both of 'em from Hobby Lobby . The white one is a no name and the silver one is a Prismacolor Premier pencil. Thanks Stan! Lookin' forward to the rebuild Pat!
  2. Lookin' good Damian! Your 1:1 looks good also and sorry to hear you sold it. Man I hate it when that happens!
  3. Help yourself there Tim and thanks for the vote of confidence! Thanks for your encouragement as well Pat! Man I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's T/A strip had a few snags in it. lol How long ago did you build it?
  4. Lookin' forward to this one Pat.
  5. Today fellas, I hit the gauge work hard. My only regret is that I didn't grab the camera sooner! I ended up using a piece of the packaging that my sanding pads came in for a base work for the gauges: I cut a shape that I could make a gauge backing out of the rectangular piece, applied the decals in the correct place(that took a little time) and after allowing to dry I shot some black on the back side of the panel to prevent any "air gaps" from the side of the gauges to the hole as seen from the front. The decals are incorrect as there are two charging system gauges. Oh well I guess.......in the big scheme of things it aint a biggie. I painted over the detail that I had initially done 32 years ago to see if I could improve on anything. Here the IP is ready for detail painting and the installation of the gauges. It took me SEVERAL shots before I could get a pic without glare, without plastic shavings or dust and to capture the gauge work and detail work. The details I picked out with a silver and white lead pencils and brought out the knobs with gloss clear. Looks like the gauges turned out ok. Whew! This camera and I are about to go round and round. Still learning it. It want's to focus on the background...........alot!
  6. Are you currently writing a book on how to do stuff like this? You should strongly consider it pal. Keep up the imaginative work!
  7. Looks like an entertaining build. Man if only I had the money to make something like this in real life.............................
  8. I'm watching. This weathering and aging is da bomb!ok,ok....a blast to watch!
  9. Jonathan:Thank you sir! Kevin and David:I believe you both on that and thank you a lot for your input guys. Daniel: You're gonna get my honest opinion on the plane kits since that's my specialty........................EDUARD-----HANDS DOWN!!
  10. Man Adam, the weathering on this thing is killer!!!! If you ever did an armor build I'd take a seat on the front row to watch that!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. I'm currently rebuilding a Challenger that I built when I was 14 years old and I've got to say that this is a complete blast. I find my mind constantly going back to those days thinking either , "Now what did I do that for?" or remembering, " Oh man I remember this particular stage of the build!". Fun stuff..................especially 32 years ( Did I just say that????) later.
  12. Hey Nick, that engine bay looks great so far!!!
  13. Ah ha!! I guess I'd better get some reference pics and retract my statement about Monogram (at least on cars anyway---build a Monogram warbird and you'll see what do do some suckin'!!). Thanks for the heads up Kevin! Thanks to you too Dennis! Edited a little later: Pics of what you're referring to Kevin. Looks like I may be off the hook for the wood grain here although I believe I saw it as an option somewhere for the non rally dash......... At least I'm going to be able to get the gauges in the right place.
  14. Thanks Tim! Well here the IP is . Still need a little clean up in the back to accomplish what I want out of all this but we're close: It's not going to look physically like the reference photo(good ol Monogram) but I'll do the best I can with colors and techniques. First off I'm gonna have to bust out the wood grain:
  15. Thanks Tom! I'll be switching back to the engine after I'm done here with this part.
  16. Don't worry Bob. What goes around, comes around.......and well put BTW.
  17. Gratitude........... is always good and something that's rare anymore. Good thread Richard. I'll take a sec here to cast my thanks in there for the efforts too Gregg.
  18. That throttle linkage looks Kick A!!!
  19. While I was waiting on the wires I decided to skip over to the instrument panel for a sec to make some quick mods there. ( I know I keep skipping around... I'll make it back to the engine and body at some point here!). This is what I started with:(which wasn't bad for 14 years old) And here's what I want to use for gauges: So let's get started: more on the way...............
  20. I'll be on my Monogram 1970 Dodge Challenger for the next several months through the "extended fall" and "early spring" time frames here in Corpus. Winter around here??...........HA!
  21. That's a nice looking Cuda Tom! Where'd you get the paint?
  22. Ok, I'll recap a little bit here because I don't think we are going to get anything back picture wise I started on my ignition wires this morning and should have some pics up by tomorrow or Friday morning of that progress. This is where we left off with the engine:
  23. Got the wires in today! Looks like I'm pressing ahead with the build up. Hope to have the engine completed by this weekend and move back to the body.
