  1. Dan:Thanks buddy! You left the web address out ( Don't worry I post narratives and forget to post pictures!). Lookin' forward to the address so I can get the belts going. Carl:Thanks man! Well there wasn't any modeling this morning. Had 2 Christmas parties last night. Fortunately for me I don't partake anymore but my wife sure did! LOL . So no modeling time ......................! Ah well! We had a great time together.
  2. No problem Dan!!! Thanks for the lead. I'll go looking for the belts............
  3. Thanks Dan! I'll be moving onto finishing the steering wheel/ column tomorrow morning and then it's off to seat belts. Hmm....will have to check out what the AM world has for seat belts.....................................................
  4. Got these a couple of days ago for a Mustang build:
  5. Yes...........................they do! Will be writing these guys down in my little black book!
  6. Ya think? Wow! That's bigger than my whole stash Rob!
  7. All I gotta say is congratulations to the guy that built it for getting that much money for it. He's da MAN!
  8. Well this morning saw the whole IP carrier assy coming together. I did not modify the dash pad but I did shoot it with a light coat of flat clear to take care of the shiny glue joints from 32 years ago and still managed to get one little shiny spot from todays gluing session which I neutralized with a light dry brushing of ground up black pastel. Here she is all ready for the steering wheel and whats funny is that speedo doesn't show up all grainy with the naked eye. Don't know what that's all about. And I started on the steering wheel this morning. I broke the camera out before I went any further past the one hole. Whew! and here we are after all the holes drilled out: Now I just have to finish cleaning up and start slinging some paint now.......
  9. I say "Go for it! " Rich.
  10. Keep it coming Tom! What a show!
  11. Nice work on the plug wires and rocker covers Pat! Wow!
  12. Thanks Dan! I got both of 'em from Hobby Lobby . The white one is a no name and the silver one is a Prismacolor Premier pencil. Thanks Stan! Lookin' forward to the rebuild Pat!
  13. Lookin' good Damian! Your 1:1 looks good also and sorry to hear you sold it. Man I hate it when that happens!
  14. Help yourself there Tim and thanks for the vote of confidence! Thanks for your encouragement as well Pat! Man I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's T/A strip had a few snags in it. lol How long ago did you build it?
  15. Lookin' forward to this one Pat.
  16. Today fellas, I hit the gauge work hard. My only regret is that I didn't grab the camera sooner! I ended up using a piece of the packaging that my sanding pads came in for a base work for the gauges: I cut a shape that I could make a gauge backing out of the rectangular piece, applied the decals in the correct place(that took a little time) and after allowing to dry I shot some black on the back side of the panel to prevent any "air gaps" from the side of the gauges to the hole as seen from the front. The decals are incorrect as there are two charging system gauges. Oh well I guess.......in the big scheme of things it aint a biggie. I painted over the detail that I had initially done 32 years ago to see if I could improve on anything. Here the IP is ready for detail painting and the installation of the gauges. It took me SEVERAL shots before I could get a pic without glare, without plastic shavings or dust and to capture the gauge work and detail work. The details I picked out with a silver and white lead pencils and brought out the knobs with gloss clear. Looks like the gauges turned out ok. Whew! This camera and I are about to go round and round. Still learning it. It want's to focus on the background...........alot!
  17. Are you currently writing a book on how to do stuff like this? You should strongly consider it pal. Keep up the imaginative work!
  18. Looks like an entertaining build. Man if only I had the money to make something like this in real life.............................
  19. I'm watching. This weathering and aging is da bomb!ok,ok....a blast to watch!
  20. Jonathan:Thank you sir! Kevin and David:I believe you both on that and thank you a lot for your input guys. Daniel: You're gonna get my honest opinion on the plane kits since that's my specialty........................EDUARD-----HANDS DOWN!!
  21. Man Adam, the weathering on this thing is killer!!!! If you ever did an armor build I'd take a seat on the front row to watch that!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. I'm currently rebuilding a Challenger that I built when I was 14 years old and I've got to say that this is a complete blast. I find my mind constantly going back to those days thinking either , "Now what did I do that for?" or remembering, " Oh man I remember this particular stage of the build!". Fun stuff..................especially 32 years ( Did I just say that????) later.
  23. Hey Nick, that engine bay looks great so far!!!
  24. Ah ha!! I guess I'd better get some reference pics and retract my statement about Monogram (at least on cars anyway---build a Monogram warbird and you'll see what do do some suckin'!!). Thanks for the heads up Kevin! Thanks to you too Dennis! Edited a little later: Pics of what you're referring to Kevin. Looks like I may be off the hook for the wood grain here although I believe I saw it as an option somewhere for the non rally dash......... At least I'm going to be able to get the gauges in the right place.
  25. Thanks Tim! Well here the IP is . Still need a little clean up in the back to accomplish what I want out of all this but we're close: It's not going to look physically like the reference photo(good ol Monogram) but I'll do the best I can with colors and techniques. First off I'm gonna have to bust out the wood grain:
