  1. Great weathering and good paint make this one a truly enjoyable build to look at and admire. Very nice work Andy.
  2. Wow!! Just Wow!! I enjoyed the back story just as much as I did looking at the before and after pictures. You must be very proud of this restoration project John. Excellent resto bud!
  3. Good lookin' lil' tractor there Ray. And you're right...it is good to have a change of pace every once in a while.
  4. Hadn't peeked in here in a while but I'm glad I did. Great job on that Gama Goat Pat. Don't see these any more. lol
  5. I really have a lot of respect for anyone who can paint figures like this. I consider this a form of real art and a true test of one's painting skills. I haven't been able to pull this genre of modeling off as of yet but long to give it a try. Terrific job on this Bob. Bravo man.
  6. This ranks up there as one of the best I've ever seen in terms of realism. Unbelievable!!
  7. That's a good lookin' Willys right there.
  8. This one's definitely got my attention. I like all you're doing so far JC.
  9. Thanks Ray. I've enjoyed building just about all of this kit except for the glass gondola installation to the fuselage. Real PIA to get to fit and look right together.
  10. Progress is looking good Ken. Don't sweat it with not being "any good" at aircraft modeling. Hang with it and build a closed up version of an aircraft. You'll do nothing but get better and better given the skills that I've seen you display.
  11. I know the one you're talking about Jim. He's at Fine Scale Modeler too with a thread on it. That thing is insane.....especially in that scale.
  12. Very cool idea. Not something seen much.
  13. I'd love to get a ride in one of these things. Must've been awesome. As a side note-that 6:49 long video in the lower R/H corner of your picture references a truly powerful story. If you like to read, pick up a copy of "A Higher Call". Long story short (and there's really no spoiler here as the whole book is just awesome) The pilot in the Bf-109 (Franz Stigler) was supposed to shoot that B-17 ( "Ye Old Pub" piloted by Charles Brown) down but couldn't bring himself to do it when he saw the state of the aircraft when he got closer to it. I don't have the words to describe how truly remarkable of a story it is. All I know is if you want to read a really good book then this one's it.
  14. Dip clear parts into Future, set aside and allow to dry. After you've masked and painted you can glue the halves together. That milky/ cloudy film is a result of the CA glue fumes reacting with the clear plastic parts. The Future will prevent that from happening.
  15. That's a really good lookin' truck. Great work!!
  16. I have to quote this for two reasons. 1.) because I couldn't agree more with you on a favorite generation of truck. I've had mine now for 9 years and it's become my favorite vehicle of all time and now has 405,000 miles on it. and 2.) you are definitely right about the one piece grille. Having built one myself I'm glad that it was an all black truck because of that fact.
  17. LOL! I've had stranger things happen. Again, fantastic build. Good stance and good overall look.
  18. You are right, these are good kits.
  19. This is indeed a VERY nicely built truck!!! I do have to ask about the manual shifter coming out of the floor along with the automatic shift lever on the steering column.
  20. In addition to congratulating you on a great finish I was also gonna make mention of the El Caminos that used to be used. I spent a while in aviation and knew of those from the old timers that used to see them way back when. If I remember the stories correctly there were 396's in them.
  21. Good detailing on that engine.
  22. Very neatly done. Feast for the eyes.
