  1. Very cool idea. Not something seen much.
  2. I'd love to get a ride in one of these things. Must've been awesome. As a side note-that 6:49 long video in the lower R/H corner of your picture references a truly powerful story. If you like to read, pick up a copy of "A Higher Call". Long story short (and there's really no spoiler here as the whole book is just awesome) The pilot in the Bf-109 (Franz Stigler) was supposed to shoot that B-17 ( "Ye Old Pub" piloted by Charles Brown) down but couldn't bring himself to do it when he saw the state of the aircraft when he got closer to it. I don't have the words to describe how truly remarkable of a story it is. All I know is if you want to read a really good book then this one's it.
  3. Dip clear parts into Future, set aside and allow to dry. After you've masked and painted you can glue the halves together. That milky/ cloudy film is a result of the CA glue fumes reacting with the clear plastic parts. The Future will prevent that from happening.
  4. That's a really good lookin' truck. Great work!!
  5. I have to quote this for two reasons. 1.) because I couldn't agree more with you on a favorite generation of truck. I've had mine now for 9 years and it's become my favorite vehicle of all time and now has 405,000 miles on it. and 2.) you are definitely right about the one piece grille. Having built one myself I'm glad that it was an all black truck because of that fact.
  6. LOL! I've had stranger things happen. Again, fantastic build. Good stance and good overall look.
  7. You are right, these are good kits.
  8. This is indeed a VERY nicely built truck!!! I do have to ask about the manual shifter coming out of the floor along with the automatic shift lever on the steering column.
  9. In addition to congratulating you on a great finish I was also gonna make mention of the El Caminos that used to be used. I spent a while in aviation and knew of those from the old timers that used to see them way back when. If I remember the stories correctly there were 396's in them.
  10. Good detailing on that engine.
  11. Very neatly done. Feast for the eyes.
  12. You seem to go for the out of the ordinary stuff and manage to pull it all off with some really good finesse. Nicely done John.
  13. Thanks Mark. Yeah they never were the powerhouses of the day but they definitely made their mark for being among the first of the fast trucks that would follow.
  14. Sorry for the absence this last week. I took off two days from work this week. Had problems with one of my teeth that gave me problems in the 7-8 on the pain scale range. Went to the dentist and he gave me these antibiotics that reeked havoc on my stomach wise and I had that "disconnected" feeling. Really sucked. I took two days off from work and pretty much slept both days. BUT...………….I'm back in the saddle again my fine feathered friends. Did ALOT of work today on this bird. The friggin' landing gear legs broke loose from their mounting and I had to re-glue those back on. I've pretty much completed the camo scheme for this aircraft and have to say that this one goes down as one of the most difficult paint jobs that I've done yet with all the black basing, marbling and masking. Sheesh!!! With all that being said and aside from needing to paint the back of the engine nacelle a burnt black here's where we are now: and the bottom side. after the burnt black application on the engine nacelle we'll be off to completing the nose section and applying a gloss coat! My FAVORITE part.
  15. Dude...……………..this is serious! Love the colors, details and the whole build in general. One of the best I've seen built of this kit.
  16. VERY cool build Jeremy!! That looks amazing.
  17. Thanks Codi. Got some more done this morning. Almost ready for the painting the lighter undersides of her after some more color border touch up:
  18. You've got that point right! This is a truly good looking build.
  19. Very good looking Van Les. Impressive!
  20. Well that's working great then. That truck bed looks amazing. Good job on this one Jim.
