  1. You've got that right about kit price Bill. Mine cost in the $50 ish range used and ended up not having the bumpers or grill in the kit.
  2. Thanks for the heads up JC....heading there now....
  3. Dammit boy! That does look good! Very nice job on this one. I'm building one as well (which will be in the Under Glass Section within the week) and the only big thing I didn't like about this kit was that the exhaust tail pipes needed tweeking a bit to get them closer to the body instead of hanging down a bit. Great work on this Tyrone.
  4. You did a good job putting this one together JC. I hear what you're saying on a simple build. Lots of times it's difficult to stay focused with a really entailed build. Great work here buddy.
  5. Well guys...………...I had more done on this thing than I thought. the only real setback was that the exhaust tailpipes hung down too low. I had to break out the mini torch and carefully shield all the surrounding chassis and apply a little heat to it to tuck it back up where it belonged. The ending steps are a bit finicky with the front bumper being sandwiched between the body and the chassis but I've now got that done. I still need to re-paint the tail gate and install the upper radiator hose, side rear view mirrors and do some last minute clean up, polishing and a couple of other things but this one's almost there.... …………..and completed engine bay.
  6. Haven't seen this one till now but you can bet that I'll be following this one from here on out. Great work as usual JC!
  7. Thanks Carl. Thank you Mike! I appreciate your comments as well Curtis. This is definitely in the "too shiny" category for stock BUT I couldn't help myself with this one as I have a love for these trucks. If I had one I would want it to look like this.
  8. Got the gloss coat on. Here in the photos this is about 6 hours after application so this is already nice n' dry to touch. It'll be another 3-4 days till I bring all of this out of the drying booth. I'm really stoked about how this finish is going to look on the completed build.I was pretty happy to make out the bulb letters in the middle of the light reflection on the body :
  9. Thanks Tom. There's some issues along the way but it's a decent kit. Thank you Jeremy. I'd love to get ahold of a 1:1 version for a decent price. Probably not gonna happen but'd be nice. Thanks John. I've gotta watch how carried away I do get with the details. Builds take long enough these days and details add a lot of time to them.
  10. Off to a good start. Very nice 1:1 truck btw. What's he runnin' in the 1/4?
  11. Fantastic weathering and attention to detail Chuck. I'm likin' this!
  12. What great ideas in motion! I would've never thought that up!!
  13. Works like a charm. Great tutorial.
  14. Wow! In real life I don't anything would break in that final drive system. Definitely one of a kind and you pulled it all off well.
  15. Thanks Carl. Thank you Thomas 'Preciate it Larry. First show in three years. It was good to get to converse and be around fellow modelers.
  16. Good lookin build Larry. How did you build your dual feed fuel inlet line to the carburetor?
  17. Thanks Tom. I got the base color on this morning. I still need to do some wet sanding here and there to remove a couple of dust specks and smooth some areas out. I've got her in the drying booth now for the next couple of days.
  18. Double post. Deleted
  19. I'll second that on the seam up front as well as getting rid of those "dots" in the headlamps. Very nicely done Larry.
  20. Thanks Seth! 'Preciate that Scott.
  21. Now THAT.................is a sharp car right there!!!
  22. I managed to go to my first model show in three years this past weekend in San Antonio so I finally had a chance to show this lil' guy. Being my first auto build ever at 12 years old it was a good victory. I managed to bring home a 2nd Place award right behind my '56 Ford F-100 which took 1st Place in the same category. I took a chance as I didn't think a MONOGRAM Camaro would place at all.
  23. Thanks Albert, Jacob and Earl. I appreciate the very kind words. I simply could NOT fathom doing all that work to the interior and then using such a crappy OOB glass assy like this: So ….. I cut it up into sections and cleaned the sections up some. I also fabricated some sun visors to help the realism out a tad:
