Thanks Geoff! I've done my fair share of brush painting but it was mostly on military builds early on. lol Thanks Dave! My son is hit and miss with it. I need to get together with him on his Superbird kit as he really wants to build that!! -

Thanks Rich! I do appreciate your dropping in bud. 'Preciate the comments John. I had more at one time but that was about 5 moves ago. Like my grandpa used to say......5 moves is equal to a burn out. -
Very very cool!! Great job!!!

Man that looks good. I like those "meats" in the back. Really gives this good lookin' build an aggressive look. Great tribute build to your friend.

'74 Barracuda Pro Street-Oldest "Untouched" Build in my Collection

Thanks Tom. For a long time after the build the front tires stuck way too far outside of the fenders but I corrected that not too long ago because it was really bugging me so that's one thing I had to fix. Comparison Shots Before: and after : -
Don't see this one built very often. Good lookin' Buick!!

I have one car that I pretty much refuse to touch (outside of the repairs that I've done to it and to get rid of that stupid wing that it had) which is my MPC 1974 Pro Street Barracuda that I built when I was around 16 years old. I've kept it this way to remind myself, my son and others that we all start somewhere. One day I'd really like to acquire another one of these kits and have another "go" at it just for fun's sake. The kit: This one resides in my display case after spending 25+ years in mine and my brothers old room at my parents house. Being in its own display case for all those years helped to keep it intact despite all the heat back in that room from being shut off from the rest of the house. Here's after a couple of repairs and given the proper glamour shot treatment:

Sweet!!!! I've wondered what this car looked like when finished!

Sorry for the absence around here as of late but I've been spending ALOT of time at the bench trying to get this one finished. I'm down to the REALLY short list on getting the base aircraft finished so I can move on to the engine assembly and detailing. Only a few things left like main gear doors and struts, aerial antenna, painting the rivets on the cockpit framing and installing the pitot tube. I mean I've got a little clean up to do here and there but this part of the build is just about to a close. Really stoked about displaying the engine though. Overall, I've got some mixed feelings about this kit here because of fit issues but mostly because it has now moved into the most difficult kit that I've ever built category. Just really don't care for it even though it's supposed to be the best 234 kit out there. No worries however, I'm saddling up and moving forward and have learned a lot from this build. Here's where we're at now...…….close.....real close.

You sure did a great job with that yellow paint...............and you're right. Yellow is pretty dang hard to work with. Fabulous job!!!

I think I reached a point to where I whistled and the kit began assembling itself. lol. Really easy kit to work with and produces a truly great result in the end. Revell really had their act together when the came up with this one.
