  1. Thanks for the printable fabric info.ai located some at H.L.yesterday.Great job on the material choice and weathering in the bed.
  2. If you still have the package from that printable fabric please post the name of that product. Thanks!
  3. Looking very good here.Your choice of the airplane wings was pure inspiration! You have a ton of work in this long time project and it's really paying off nicely. As for cutting up kits...Everything is basically raw material if it can supply what you need at the time.
  4. You have the patience of a saint and the skills of a sculptor. This is truly going to be build to be proud of when finished.
  5. Now this is cool!Wonder what this will be haulin? You might consider Utah for the state design on the out side of the box and some salt flats views as well. I might be tempted to make up an imaginary state of my own like the state of "Confusion" and sticker bomb it with question marks.
  6. Sweet!!What a cool project. While some of us are trying to be exactly correct with some minute detail of our current project Ira's out digging through his recycling bin looking for just the right size vitamin bottle to cut monster tire wheel well covers from.Gotta love that style building!
  7. I live near the U.S.Plastics outlet store. It's located in Lima,Ohio and can be seen from interstate 75 on the North side of town.If you live anywhere near there it's well worth your time to stop in and do some shopping.
  8. The garage and '48 are both great projects. Thanks for sharing.
  9. That roof is right at home on that Chevy body.Like Rob said...I looked at that and thought something was different but didn't know what that someting was.Nice job.
  10. I am looking forward to a tutorial on your stone work.Looks super.
  11. If you still have the package from that printable fabric please post the name of that product. Thanks!
  12. It's a whole new golden age of model building isn't it?
  13. You might want to consider an indented scoop mounted into the roof where it would be out of sight at street level.Effective and sneaky at the same time!
  14. Just like the famous comedian Red Skelton said in one of his routines.."That's smoooooooth"!
  15. I vote the the flattie. How about one from replicas and minatures of Md.with their old school S.C.O.T.blower set up and some zoomie exhaust pipes turned down and out as weed burners.
  16. This is a spot on model of the real car.Great model. Thanks for sharing all of the details with us.
  17. Nice conversion Mike.I look forward to watching your progress.
  18. I did a mid engine sedan delivery a few decades ago.I put a Chevy 454 amidship in a '54 Chevy sedan delivery.I added a small airscoop to the side of the body to feed air to the hungry beasts twin carbs.I modified an air cleaner to collect that air and direct it to the engine. You might want to consider the same thing.I also converted the front engine bay into a spare tire and tire tool storage area.
  19. Here is a fact that the Herbie fans might find interesting. When the movie was being planned Disney Studios contacted the Airstream trailer Co.here in Jackson Center,Ohio about the possibility of making some go kart sized herbie bodys from thick wall plastic. At that time Airstream had a very large in-house vacuum drawing operation that produced end shell liners, shower enclosures, plastic drawers and a ton of other items used in the production of their trailers. I was working at their factory at the time and those huge vacuum draw machines were just a few feet from where I worked all day. When I say huge I mean each one could hold four 4'x8' sheets of plastic material at one time. I remember the molds for Herbie and some other bodys being made as the finished bodys were stacked everywhere outside awaiting shipping to the customers.I know there were several bodys being made then but honestly the only one I can remember is a Mustang coupe. If I remember correctly there is a scene in the Herbie movie where someone is tied to a stake and Herbies dancing around that stake Indian style. Those dancing cars are the ones made at the Airstream factory.
