    So, if I want to learn to do this where do I begin ? What do I need?

    After going to the ACME show in Atlanta last weekend and seeing Bill Cunningham's incredible 3d printed models I have become very curious about this technology. Do you have to learn CAD to 3d print ? Will we be able to download files for parts or complete kits and print them ? Can you take a full size part or another model part and scan it, resize it to scale and print it ?

    Yes! Those models were incredible! The photos don't do them justice. And like I said. I want to know more about this.

    I used Testors gloss black enamel and then C1 models metalizer powder after the black dried for over a week.

    I recently finished this one. Tamiya 1/12, Hobby Design upgrade kit and Studio 27 carbon fiber decals.

    I think the interior was one of the best parts but it's mostly hidden.

    You did a great job ! I finished mine about 2 months ago. I think I put over 200 decals on it with a matte finish. In the end it didn't feel very rewarding for the time spent.

    Thanks for the kind words guys. The vette was kind of an experiment for me. I dont typically do custom cars but really enjoyed it.

    The battery cables were from detail master. The stripes are decals under the clear.

    These are the 4 that I completed last year. I hope that I will finish as many this year.

    It would be really cool if they made some modern 911s. Such as 997, 991 or 992 styles with engine detail.

    I meant as you said in the first paragraph. Studio 27 makes some great stuff. I wonder if Tamiya will make their own for this kit.
