  1. Pulled my most recently purchased kit off the top of my stash because I was drawn to it. It's the monogram topless 32 ford with the fenders and frame as one unit. I would like to make it sort of a 60's hot rod with a bit of patina. I found some finned valve covers in my parts box and realized I wanted a 3 carb intake after I already glued the single 4 barrel intake on... whoops. Anyone know off hand what kit I could rob a 3 carb intake from, for a smallblock chevy? Anyway, I was initially thinking of painting it cliché flat black... but remembered I had a can of model masters honduras maroon. I think I'll paint it that color and hit it with flat clear. After some weathering of course. Complete with an off-white firewall and maybe a touch of rust here and there. What are your opinions?
  2. is "gold" the brand name?
  3. I'd still love to have all 4 of the main dukes kits to build. I had a general lee years ago that was molded in orange. I clearcoated it and it looked ok for a while but then over time it frosted and bubbled real bad. Nothing I could do. So Daisy's jeep became parts since I didnt have a good looking general to go with it.
  4. This is nice to know.
  5. Thanks folks. I love this little car. I have a huge soft spot for Mustang II's and whenever I see a kit like this I try to snatch it up
  6. Looks great! Love the Nova/Chevelle picture
  7. That's a fantastic looking model. Great work.
  8. From the 4th of July 3 day build off.. didnt quite make it. Took 4 days total. Very basic kit but I enjoyed it. Especially because it's a Mustang II. Tamiya bright red and Tamiya clear, unpolished. Enjoy
  9. Worked on it last night and got it completed. Here's some pics beforehand Detailed the trim around the taillights in flat black and then used model masters stoplight red for the taillights. Looks better than I anticipated. Then I used one of my custom license plates I printed many, many years ago. got the interior finished up I realized after I put it together I forgot to paint the fire extinguisher... whoops. So here's the last pic before it goes under glass
  10. They are "wheel disks" they are basically covers that go over the wheels you see in this thread. I wasnt about to use them though! I am however upset that the decals were garbage when I tried to use them I kinda had my heart set on using them
  11. Not sure. But when I see Mustang II stuff, I jump on it...
  12. I'd buy from altered states before going w/ a jimmy flintstone.
  13. Also, he has this available via the website... looks like that orange one earlier in the thread. http://www.alteredstatesmodels.com/images/27dragflats2.jpg
  14. It's not plastic, but I saw this one recently on ebay. I believe it's from Altered States.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Resin-1-25-Louvered-27-Ford-Roadster-/111709333766?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1a02652906
  15. I'm going to leave it in there. I didnt have any plans for it because I wanted to build it quickly, plus I think it's kind of neat. It looks like its supposed to be a vinyl tire cover for the spare wheel/tire that just exposes the wheel. I've already go the tub painted flat black and was going to go over the side panels, console, and spare tire cover with testors bottle flat black because it has a little more shine to it like if those items were vinyl/plastic that had been armor-all'd. Just to break it up
  16. You're welcome. makes me want to find that kit now and make a tribute to it. I have ideas brewing already.
  17. I love the "flat tire" up front, like it was an abandoned drag racer that had the windows busted out. I wouldnt change a thing! Dust and all!!
  18. Stunning! great job! Still looking for this one in the hobby shops
  19. Built this for a friend. He has several more bikes he wants me to build but wanted to start off with this. Definitely out of my comfort zone but I think it turned out well.
  20. I'm a little jealous. I'm turned off on Nascar kits... tried to build them when I was younger... it was a mess, I'll just say that.
  21. Youre a braver man that I am... I couldnt cut stuff up like that and be able to put it back together and look that good.
  22. Wow this thing is gnarly looking! I dig it!
  23. Detailed the dashboard I had to call it quits last night so I could get some sleep. Should be done soon! Let me know what you think!
  24. I assembled the chassis and thought it would be cool to mock it up Detailed the trim in black I tossed the interior bucket and the nose/hood on it and did it again this thing is looking amazing I think so far... So then I wired up the engine. I cut off the molded in distributor and replaced it w/ one from Morgan Automotive Detail, and I chose to use my tan cap/yellow wire combo for that 80's Accel ignition look Got it in the chassis along w/ the driveshaft
