  1. Well that's exactly what I was thinking too... but have you seen the size of the old AMT 49 Ford flathead?
  2. Normally I wouldnt mind cutting stuff up, but engine detail is soo hard to correct after cutting and gluing I'd prefer not to.
  3. So I'm sure some of you have seen my Model A thread that I had recently. I want to put a V8 in it instead of the 4 cylinder and make it a nice period hot rod. Problem is, all of the flathead v8 engines I have in the parts box are entirely too big in scale, and the transmissions are very long, and look like toploaders or muncie's. What would be the best choice for a v8 swap in that old kit? I was thinking the Revell midget racers w/ their v8/60 engine but when sat in the chassis they look extremely tiny, and the transmission looks soo small it almost looks to me to be a 2 speed or something.. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? I've learned soo much about hot rods in the past few years (coming from the Mustang world orignally) but there are still soo many things to learn! Thanks!
  4. I have this one I bought as a rebuilder off ebay... Giving me ideas Keep up the good work!
  5. I think the MPC Duke's of Hazzard Daisy's Jeep had a 4 cyl if I'm not mistaken?
  6. I know I'm a hoarder. I have 1000s of hotwheels, tons of car magazines, 5 real vehicles, and almost 130 models.... not to mention a 10x12 storage unit full of mustang parts that keeps growing!
  7. I love vintage style builds. This looks great! I've been stockpiling parts to make vintage hot rods out of parts box materials!
  8. It appears to be too tall, and squared off.
  9. what type of BMF are you using? I can mostly only find chrome, matte aluminum, gold, and black chrome at hobby shops.
  10. I don't want to jinx it... but I've had said application of that name for a very long time, and never once received any sort of communication other than emails. It also helps that you put very limited information in there when you sign up.
  11. This one got overlooked at the first show I went to. Could have also been poor placement by me. I thought the show started later but it started at 9... and by the time I got there I had to rush and had to find a place for them.... maybe I placed them in the wrong class... as they werent well divided or separated. *the following photos are not mine, I saved them off of C.A.R's facebook page. But a car I built over 10 years ago got picked for best in class in another class.... so it sorta worked out. And here are the others that got overlooked at the show, also builds that are quite old, so maybe that had something to do with it. This last picture is mine, another one I brought to the show that didnt get picked for anything I will admit, I was afraid of BMF when I built the nova, black mustang and rusty 55 chevy gasser... the others I built before I even knew what BMF was as a kid/teen

  16. I ordered a salt flat body from altered states on ebay.... got it lightning fast! and good quality too
  17. Not to mention the ONE of ONE coachbuilt cars for rich folks back in the day....
  18. Especially if it's designed around the Lindberg kits..
  19. I havent touched my cars... yet again. I seem to have a hard time committing myself to a build that I committed myself to. If that makes sense.
  20. One of the best examples of that kit in a long time. What a beauty!
  21. I'd love to find an old 79 bronco kit. Looks great!
