  1. The BEST spot putty I've ever used, via a suggestion on here... is the 2 part Bondo brand putty you get from the auto parts store. There's typically 2 types when you're in the auto body/paint section... the 1 part, and the 2 part. the 2 part is the best. the 1 part I've had react w/ different paints and primers.
  2. Wow. Amazing work going on here. I've still not touched anything of mine.
  3. I'd be willing to bet that the suspension and chassis/frame of this kit is shared w/ the 29. And designed as such to take different engines.
  4. Built my first set of paperclip hinges last night. What a pain. I love how they turned out but wow they took some time to get decent. Also... uhh.... I accidentally glued it all together already... whoops. Painting it should be fun!
  5. Thanks folks! I think depending on how I build the roadster, I may build a push car for it.
  6. Thanks. The Duvall windsheld came from the ugly AMT phantom vicky
  7. Wheels and tires are from thepartsbox.com for both of these. Front suspensions are as well. Debating on keeping the '32 floor in the frame for rigidity purposes and fabbing the interior since its a racecar!
  8. Because my plastic a.d.d. knows no bounds... I couldnt help but start messing w/ the salt flat roadster. I wanted to use the original monogram '30 frame... but it just didnt look right at all under it. I also couldnt get the car to sit down like I wanted it as well. So, I dug up a Revell 32 frame from some parts I got in on trade and cut out the front crossmember and rear section of the 32 frame and replaced the front crossmember of the 30 after I flipped it, and the rear crossmember as well. I originally wanted to channel the body over the frame but couldnt figure out the suspension for that... but after I sat it on the 32 frame I loved the look. So then I wanted to fill in the rear fenders so they werent open, and I tried to recreate the inner fenders that you see on traditional rods.
  9. Wow. Perfect. I always wanted to build this one but know I couldnt do it justice like you did.
  10. Gorgeous replica!!! I need to make the replica of my '94 one of these days if I ever finish anything.
  11. I have the same kit and I'd love to make it look just like yours. It's perfect.
  12. He was a hot rodder and a pilot it appears? Thats cool. My grandpa was a pilot in WW2 and Korea.
  13. Thats a beauty! I need to work on mine. Amazing how well the Tamiya gold matches the real car. Got any pics of it in actual daylight? You'll have his first car and I'll have his last car. That would be a cool picture with them together.
  14. Welcome! Looks great! Were most, or all 40's red underneath?
  15. Someone makes the standard long bed. I almost bought one at a show recently... I'll have to dig thru my parts and find the package for it
  16. Wow... just wow.... amazing work.
  17. Revell 32 Ford 3 window. the one w/ the black car on the box. Those were glass packs. Although the pipe is a little puny. Heck even the new release of the 32 Ford 5 window should have the same exhaust as an option.
  18. i'm cool with whatever... I just want a 30-31 Model A!!! hopefully it's a 5 window like the old monogram bodies!
  19. I really enjoy this. I have an old monogram 55 chevy that I abandoned after trying to paint the interior red like 4 times and it still showed black thru... Might have to reconsider...
  20. A new 30-31???????? Is this a dream?????? Count me in!!!!!!!!! Need need need!
  21. No problem just glad you got them
  22. Vince, I hope you got the slicks and headers I sent you a while back as a token of my appreciation for those Mustang II wheels.
