Revell Mustang II Cobra "street machine" finished
JTalmage replied to JTalmage's topic in Model Cars
Thanks folks. I love this little car. I have a huge soft spot for Mustang II's and whenever I see a kit like this I try to snatch it up -
Looks great! Love the Nova/Chevelle picture

That's a fantastic looking model. Great work.

From the 4th of July 3 day build off.. didnt quite make it. Took 4 days total. Very basic kit but I enjoyed it. Especially because it's a Mustang II. Tamiya bright red and Tamiya clear, unpolished. Enjoy

Worked on it last night and got it completed. Here's some pics beforehand Detailed the trim around the taillights in flat black and then used model masters stoplight red for the taillights. Looks better than I anticipated. Then I used one of my custom license plates I printed many, many years ago. got the interior finished up I realized after I put it together I forgot to paint the fire extinguisher... whoops. So here's the last pic before it goes under glass

They are "wheel disks" they are basically covers that go over the wheels you see in this thread. I wasnt about to use them though! I am however upset that the decals were garbage when I tried to use them I kinda had my heart set on using them

Not sure. But when I see Mustang II stuff, I jump on it...

We need a '27 Tee Roadster in plastic.

I'd buy from altered states before going w/ a jimmy flintstone. -

It's not plastic, but I saw this one recently on ebay. I believe it's from Altered States.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Resin-1-25-Louvered-27-Ford-Roadster-/111709333766?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1a02652906 -
I'm going to leave it in there. I didnt have any plans for it because I wanted to build it quickly, plus I think it's kind of neat. It looks like its supposed to be a vinyl tire cover for the spare wheel/tire that just exposes the wheel. I've already go the tub painted flat black and was going to go over the side panels, console, and spare tire cover with testors bottle flat black because it has a little more shine to it like if those items were vinyl/plastic that had been armor-all'd. Just to break it up

You're welcome. makes me want to find that kit now and make a tribute to it. I have ideas brewing already.

I love the "flat tire" up front, like it was an abandoned drag racer that had the windows busted out. I wouldnt change a thing! Dust and all!!

Stunning! great job! Still looking for this one in the hobby shops

I'm a little jealous. I'm turned off on Nascar kits... tried to build them when I was younger... it was a mess, I'll just say that.

Youre a braver man that I am... I couldnt cut stuff up like that and be able to put it back together and look that good. -
Wow this thing is gnarly looking! I dig it!

Detailed the dashboard I had to call it quits last night so I could get some sleep. Should be done soon! Let me know what you think!

I assembled the chassis and thought it would be cool to mock it up Detailed the trim in black I tossed the interior bucket and the nose/hood on it and did it again this thing is looking amazing I think so far... So then I wired up the engine. I cut off the molded in distributor and replaced it w/ one from Morgan Automotive Detail, and I chose to use my tan cap/yellow wire combo for that 80's Accel ignition look Got it in the chassis along w/ the driveshaft

Started this one for the 4th of July weekend build, but didnt finish so I thought I'd post my progress here for those that didnt look at that thread. This is the kit I started with. Basically a reboxed Monroe Handler. Bought it at a yardsale and it was 100% complete. Cleaned up the body and got it in primer Light coat one day heavier coat the next... Final coat and then clear coats after that. Then I detailed the white lettering on the tires. I wasnt going to but I LOVE the old style BFG tires. Did all four of them and hit them w/ flat clear

Casting; 1 piece or 2 piece?
JTalmage replied to aurfalien's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I'll have to look into that. Thanks -
Here's what I managed to get done yesterday before calling it quits so I could get enough sleep. lol I threw the front end/hood/interior on it just to see what it would look like... I cannot wait to finish it. Managed to cut off the molded on distributor and replaced it w/ a M.A.D. distributor. I chose a tan cap and yellow wires for that 80's Accel ignition look! Only thing I didnt like about the M.A.D. distributor is it didnt come w/ a hollow piece of tubing for the boots. So Luckily I had one leftover from a motorcycle I built for a friend, since I didnt have time to sit and strip the core out of the wire it came with. Got it mounted in the chassis Detailed the dashboard and painted the trim black Aaaaand thats when I thought it would be a good idea to sleep
