  1. Most of these old annual kits from the late 50s & early 60s never depicted the actual model on the box. They were just a generic box for all of the kits with a sticker on the side depicting what was inside. Steve I wonder if they made a 2 door contenental/Mark in the body style of the one the OP is building?
  2. I like everything but the hood scoop lol
  3. Now that is one happening lil teal dodge truck!
  4. Basically how I built them as a kid LOL So wait a sec... the gold car on the box is a 2 door... but your car is a 4 door... I'm confused.
  5. Gorgeous. I need to get a few of these kits. I love the Starliner
  6. Absolutely gorgeous
  7. As badly as I want to make my models look like that porsche above (great job btw) I get dis-interested in building when I try to go to that detail. Takes too long and is way too small/detailed for me to try to even mess with. I'm basically the kind of person that will flip the desk over in anger when I lose a tiny piece
  8. Love the green truck! what did you finish it off with to get the dusty rust look?
  9. Wow. I can't think of any words that describe how awesome this is.
  10. More pics coming tomorrow. Was able to get a few outside right before the sun went down. Gonna try to take a few in very sunny conditions too
  11. Thanks everyone. I appreciate it. Next build will probably be another bike for a friend.
  12. The amount of friction/drag would probably suck.... but I need that thing!
  13. Some people will even dunk the car in water and toss it in the freezer. Ice wedging sometimes gets in the gaps and can help pop things apart.
  14. I'm using an android phone. Stock android web browser. Samsung Galaxy S4
  15. Something needs done w/ the mobile format if possible. It's glitchy. Once you hit the button to check out your notifications (quotes and private messages) You have no way of getting out of that slide out side bar. Besides navigating to the website all over. Also mobile seems to be missing the "mark site as read" feature. Outside of work I only post and view the forum from my phone except for some very rare times.
  16. Paint is: Body - Tamiya Titanium Gold, Tamiya Racing white for firewall Interior - Tamiya Pure white, Tamiya Titanium Gold for accents, covered in flat clear. Chassis underside flat black with titanium gold overspray Non kit stock parts include: M.A.D. Modelling distributor Intake manifold/carbs donated from Pete Ramirez (Flatout) parts box steering wheel Some of the running board detail was washed out by my old bottle of testors flat white . The taillights and the shifter were driving me crazy trying to get glued on. Neither would stay put. Let me know what you think, and enjoy!
  17. So last night I was determined to finish this thing. I was upset that the interior didnt turn out how I imaged it would be, but I guess metallic spray paints are a little thinner than solid colors. In turn, the gold tuck in roll is a little on the sloppy side. I painted the pedals black and did a sort of cross hatching on the gas pedal with some chrome silver model master paint. Then hit it all with flat clear. Went ahead and glued the bumpers on and the spreader bar up front Body was just on to keep it from being smacked around while moving things on the bench. I also glued the hubcaps on after detailing the lettering. more shots of the body now permanently in place with the interior and the chrome tie downs on the body behind the seat. Still missing a few details here Next pictures will be under glass!
  18. Finished this thing tonight. Interior didn't turn out as nice as I'd hoped it would but it was tough to do for me. I had a few issues getting things to stay put while gluing them but I eventually won the battle. Will post the remaining progress pics tomorrow and start an under glass thread.
  19. I also have apparently attached the roof too early on one of my projects. Whoops.
